Tibopino will be crushed after getting knocked off the podium.

He rode great during the last week, too bad he lost so much time in the first couple weeks.

No, he just spoke on French TV: of course he is disappointed by his day, but all and all, he recognizes he had a successful Giro. Don't forget it has been since 2014 that he did not manage to be in contention in the GC of a GT, so this Giro is like a small renaissance for him. He will bounce back.
Mard Madiot also revealed yesterday that Pinot had a huge loss in form for 3 or 4 days in the 2nd week: usually he would have lost it mentally and cracked on a stage, but this time he managed to hold it together and bounce back. So, well done !!

By the way, I hate last-day TTs  : so many ugly memories of my favorites losing the jersey or getting kicked out of the podium (Giro 2012, Paris-Nice 2015, Romandie 2015....).
Glad to hear he's in good spirits considering what happened today.

I like Tibo, I hope to see him do well in the future. :)

I'm very happy for Tom. He seems like a cool guy despite what some have been saying about him. I'm also glad to see Nairo stick it to the "I hope he finishes off the podium" crowd. Also wouldn't have been right without an Italian on the podium.

Very happy with this result all around!

Congrats TD!
I wanted Nibali to win but at least he won a stage and was competitive through the whole race.
Glad that Quintana lost after spending many opportunities. Pinot once again disappointing in a TT. Also Zaka did worse than I expected.
Very happy about Jungels getting the white jersey.

It's the first time in my life that I see Quintana smiling.
He must be so tired he can't even keep his usaul stone face :D

Perhaps he will be a bit less conservative in the future. I doubt it based on this and past performances.
In fairness, he tried on Stage 18 bit he just didn't have the legs for the whole race. His biggest error was probably not working with Nibali immediately when that group of 5 had four or five seconds on Dumoulin on Foza.

Still waiting for when Dumoulin cracks and loses minutes @DFA

He was minutes slower than Quintana and Nibali in getting on the podium.

Nairo actually beat both Zakarin and Pinot in the TT. He can't be disappointed at all in that ride.

Quintana rode as well as could have been expected from him. It was just never going to be good enough.

That smile on Quintana's face doesn't look like someone who's crushed he didn't win.

He is used to being 2nd in GTs I guess.
Probably at the start of the day he'd have been concerned about the podium. They were saying on the TV that the Movistar guys were looking pretty glum this morning as they checked the course, Nairo was feeling tired and the course was so un-suited to him. While he should by rights be absolutely gutted to have lost the maglia rosa on the final day, I honestly thought when he set off there was a possibility he'd be 5th by the time he rolled across the line. There was an outside chance, based on the form he'd shown this last week, that the Kamaz truck that is Zakarin would pull out a podium TT, but it seems he's exhausted from his efforts and that helped, plus Tibopino wasn't at his best. If those guys had pulled out their best TT form, just a slipped shift or overcooked corner (which we nearly got) could have deposited Nairo outside the podium, which would have been disastrous.

I think that he often gets stick he doesn't deserve for a negative mindset (although in the past he has relied too much on "one big gamble on one big stage" as a tactic and his pokerface means he doesn't come across as laying it all on the line, even if he's not attacking because he simply doesn't have the legs to) and he has been as aggressive as his legs have allowed for much of (albeit not all of) the race, but at the same time I think today it looked like they went in with the mindset that they expected to drop if others were at their best and were therefore pleased to protect 2nd.

Still, all of the top 4 won key stages, all of them in the mountains and the overall winner won a TT too for good measure. That's pretty good going in today's "save energy until the last, and let the break take it" péloton.

Dumorain wins borefest of time trialists who can climb resumes after Indurianperiod...
This post makes me extremely happy
Also, did you forget about Wiggo?

I am hoping Froome has a few more years so we can watch them battle it out in the TT's and Froome attacking him in the mountains, followed by Contador with his simmer frame

I think Froome will quite easily show NQ how to deal with Dumoulin on the mountains.
And Froome is relatively close to TD on flat TT's and probably better on hilly TT's

Jan Hirt is a true skinnyboy. He literally looks like Taylor Swift. Incredible!

About as pure climber as they come I think. Good job he has a bit of a GC buffer because he won't be good today.
He certainly is bad TTist, but then again I don't think he worked on his TT, like EVER. In this regard he certainly might improve as well as in climbing.

Wow, what a GC time gap in the end! Not a bad Giro.

Congrats to Tom, a worthy winner. Must admit that I didn't side with him throughout this Giro, used to be his supporter (have a soft spot for almost evory 2013-2016 non-Kittel Argos/Giant riders), but he's grown too monstrous for my liking, still not disliking him in any way, though.
And finally Jos!

I expected Jungels to be better today because he seemed stronger than Dumoulin yesterday. Also I knew that Quintana was not going to lose a podium, no matter what, and nobody came even close.
