I did say that Zakarin was overrated in TTs

Nobody expected him to win today, but he's had plenty of TT wins and other good placings to suggest he could be a danger man today. What we've seen is all of the GC guys exhausted. Obviously a disappointing ride from him and Pinot today, but I think those that put him as a possible threat for the podium were definitely not wrong.

Nibali was excruciatingly close to defending his 2016 victory, a little more in the mountains and this could have been different, I suppose a little more from Quintana would be the same.

He hasn't done a good time trial for a couple of years now (apart from the Paris-Nice HTF one). He is a great rider and I like him, but this forum did raise how good he actually is by quite a bit.
