I don't remeber what Scarponi did precisely but I remember Contador was all over the place already by the top of Giau some 80km out. Then Nibali descending like crazy, Nieve quietly after Garzelli... Probably my favourite stage ever.

Purito started it on Giau and everyone blew up in the end but I think it's where he secured the 'win'.

Sure he was the weaker climber today but my point is that he lost most of the time in the valley after being distanced. And that could have been limited. But for sure not an easy decision, I give them that.

I think Tao timed this well to be honest. He's not got jumped by Jai for major time, he's not imploded but he's going to end up with 2'10 or so back on Kelderman and if they make it hard on Saturday they can find a way to take another chunk.
