For those interested in a bet, I feel strongly that the market is wrong on this one. It is priced as though it's highly likely to be a sprint finish, which I think is very unlikely. FDJ will get little or no assistance (why chase to give another win to Demare) and 258km in bad weather is too much for the 5 remaining FDJ domestiques. Also Demare leads Sagan in the points competition so FDJ may well be happy to let the break take the points rather than risk that something goes wrong with Demare and Sagan can close right up in the points comp.
It's a day to spec some really long odds riders. Preferably someone with a big engine on a day the weather could make pretty hard . Sobrero and Cerny two good options.
So yes, I agree it's a boring stage overall but at least the first and last half hour should be ok.
Well we did get a good giggle at the muggy attack from Ineo$lol so eurosport didnt show the sprint of the vuelta but preferred to show the peloton finishing in the giro.....
What a call. It's not over yet but it looks good. I hope you played him.
Give us all the enlightenmentI haven't watched the stage at all, but damn now I'm grabbing the popcorn for the polemica on RAI. I almost feel bad for those who don't speak Italian because it's truly glorious.
The most hilarious thing is Kelderman gettin all the sh*t from Vegni and the others on the one day he is finally in pink.
But Sobrero lostI did - thank you!!!!
375-1.
I think that last 20km was more agony for me than him! I was screaming at the tv for the chasers to sit up.
I must have missed some good ol' CN riffing. Can someone sum up what credentials each rider brought forward to be nominated? Some very strong candidates in the running this year, very strong.
Oh my god that was so great!!!!!
Cerny at 376-1.
I totally stole that phrase I just don't remember where from.Nice!
I'm already (to quote Red Rick) roflstomping a fantasy game with no substitutions on the biggest Danish cycling site and on my way to a prize of around 900 euros, and one of my cheap riders is Josef Cerny, so today was unexpectedly great.
Bilbao, Kelderman, Almeida, Ganna and Ulissi have been quite good picks for me there, and even if I made Matthews my captain, it's been smooth sailing throughout.
Alessandra De Stefani screaming against Cristian Salvato, Vegni giving sh*t to Kelderman and threating to sue everybody, Martinelli angry with his own Astana team, DS's stating they knew nothing of the whole business... can't keep up with everything. Now Nibali is onGive us all the enlightenment

Well, why does Kelderman get sh## from Vegni? Was he the ringleader of the riders demanding the stage to be shortened? Can't imagine that. He's not exactly the extravert leader type banging his fist on the table, or do you guys see him as a contemporary Bernard Hinault?
Can't see him actively begging to shorten the stage too, that would make him look like a chicken really afraid to lose his Maglia Rosa.
That's why it was so hilarious. He just happened to be the leader of the race on the wrong day.Well, why does Kelderman get sh## from Vegni? I don't see him as the Arthur Scargill type either tbh
Wasn't it 13 degrees lol?I think it was stemming from this
