I'm not foreseeing any gc action here, climb is too short and too far from the finish.

This is one of those cases where I don't really get the chasers. Sure, there is a teammate behind, but ffs are you gonna throw away the chance to win because you are afraid of being outclimbed by Matthias Brändle? Just work together ffs.

They were not afraid of being outclimbed by Brändle, they were afraid of having to do more work than the others in the break reeling Dowsett in.

They pulled Dowsett back to 23 seconds on the top of the climb but now on the flat they are going full gas and Dowsett is still riding away from them... 35 seconds now. He's got it.

This stage has been more Vuelta than Giro, and not in a good way. Deserved win for Dowsett though, a rare display of strong tactics from ISN.
