images, at last!
To cheer some people here up, the last time Nibali went stagehunting on a shortened gt stage:
They listed Marton Dina for the longest time instead of him.Okay... maybe Fortunato was listed as being in the break the whole time, and I'm just blind. Or he only got listed.
Yeah TJVG told RAI that Carthy woke up, looked out of the window and told him: "today we can win the Giro".dunno if this was mentioned already but Carthy wanted to race the whole stage. Good to see GC riders speaking out against this travesty.
"Today’s stage was 212km and I focused on 212km,” he said. “If they want to cancel the stage, they can cancel the stage, I don’t care, but I prepared for 212k. I’m ready for the stage."
As for whether there were sufficient safety grounds to amend or cancel the stage, he added: "I don’t know – it’s not for me to say. As riders we have to act together and make a decision together, but it’s not for me to say. On my own I can’t say.
"I want to do the whole stage, I want to finish in Cortina, but if they cancel it they cancel it. It’s not my decision."
Carthy sensed a chance to win Giro d'Italia before stage 16 alteration
Briton and his team were happy to go ahead with Dolomites stage as originally plannedwww.cyclingnews.com
