If I was a betting man, this would be the time I'd be putting money on Roglic. Very rare for a break of 30 to fail to stay away on a mid-mountain stage but it isn't that unlikely anymore...

How many crashes can you fit into a single GT? So many of them at completely random moments too. Not just Covid doing the rounds in the peloton, but also an acute loss of either eyesight, bike handling or both.

This is setting a new standard for bad breakaway cooperation.

It has been so dry the last year in Europe, maybe they all forgot how to ride in the rain.

Real also mostly lost because Luka Modric was finally exhausted by being Beatrix von Storch (German AfD Politican)

That's not von Storch, it's Steve Little from eastbound and down.

5 minutes now.

The cooperation was terrible in the big group, but it's not like anyone in the peloton is interested in chasing.

Off topic for today but relevant for tomorrow, will this type of weather continue tomorrow in Northern Italy and Switzerland?

It's not charity, none of those guys are there for GC, the chase isn't strong, so it's basic game theory to do as little as possible.
If they would have worked they wouldn't be now in the wind chasing the teams with multiple riders that have gone of the front.

Then maybe the mistake is missing that break and not not working in the first place?
It's always a gamble if you are sitting down in the group and you are not rotating. I think it's miscalculation. Just keep the group running smoothly until 20 k before the climb, then all bets are off and you now that attacks are coming.

With so many riders you have to pull every 3-4 minutes that does not cook you.

So the interediate sprint is always first, then the bonus sprint? Ciclamino should heavily affect breakaway formation in mountain stages then.

Meanwhile, I noticed the bonus sprint tomorrow is in Verbier. LOL
Surely one of the EOLO guys will have received enough coaching of how to get to Verbier first by Contador?
