Not like Thomas is going to attack before the last climb.
If it's Puccio and Swift this is irrelevant.

Aurelien Paret-Peintre in the break-away.. It means Roglic v Thomas for the win imho, break-away won't gain much time with the french in it..

Ballerini and Clarke both DNS.
Plenty of room in the team bus now for Serry and Van Wilder.
That reminds me of the Bjarne Riis claim that when he was the only rider left in the team the staff wanted to go home but he wanted to ride on. He had to retire a couple of days later because he reckoned they poisoned him!!

Can only assume the Ineos riders are getting up the road so they have a better chance of being there later in the stage, maybe an excuse not to chase, rather than some sort of legendary long range tactic.

interesting - Benedetti doing the work in the 2nd group, Konrad at the back "relaxing"

Either BOH is planning to use Konrad as a relais station for Kämna, or, if the group is getting a big enought lead, Eisel said he might be allowed to ride for himself...

Odds of FDJ keeping the breakaway on a tight leash because they don't want to give the Maglia Rosa to AG2R out of principle? :D
If it gets to a point where APP can take pink, then Haig is also suddenly back up there in the GC battle and Bahrain would look pretty scary if that happens, so you'd think the other main GC teams would start legitimately pulling well before that. Can't see many, if any, riders in this group staying ahead with the GC situation the way it is.
