Flobikes did an interview with Hansen yesterday, where he basically said that the organizers could have presented whatever they wanted, their answer was "no"

Bit disingenuous by Hansen as usual by going on about the Extreme Weather Protocol when he's led on getting stages cancelled or changed when that protocol wasn't even close to being applied

This seems to not be true, though, and it seems they said yes to Monday's plans and then Tuesday's Livigno ride, before then saying no. That's according to Paolo Bellino and Vegni, and Cristian Salvato (CPA) didn't deny it.
Hansen calls Monday's plans a "proposal" in that interview, so he doesn't seem to have seen it as an agreement.

But no idea if that's true or not, of course.

Okay, Bardet said he wants to win the stage before the start. And that a Top 5 result would be good. So now we know, they gamble on Pogi not following.
I think they gamble on Pog following but not competing for the sprint at the end (basically like Pantani to Ullrich, Armstrong to Basso etc.). Which actually might be a good gamble because I think Pog is a fan of attacking riders. He just needs the leg to actually get separation from Martinez, G, Tiberi etc.

He has no respect for the rules, including the EWP.

Martinez has to be amongst the dumbest riders in this race. Just like on Sunday he is in 20th position when the attack happens, back then he did go over to limit trying to close a monster gap to Pogacar now he just closed the gap for Thomas.

I mean at least DSM makes it interesting even tho we could get a 6th for Pog because of it.

A harder race for Bardet is positive so why not I guess. If he still wants to move up in GC he needs to try today. Tiberi might crack, he wasn't good in the hardest stage in this Giro.

Bardet is a good descender so he might attack near the top of the first Passo del Brocon climb.

He has no team.

For Bardet it's all or nothing....DSM bringing back the group for Bardet, he has to deliver.
Probably a bit surprised that Pogacar was following him...

Yes, also possible. But the trouble is going to be to even stick to Pogis wheel when he just goes up in a good speed to controll the race e.g.
