Great sprint Del Toro, good positioning too, though he couldn't close the Carapaz attack down when he tried initially.

Yates should lose time on purpose if he is here to work.
Chapeau Carapaz! Cycling needs riders like you! Now go nuts and win this Giro.

If there was actually anyone better than them at this race, I think UAE would fully devolve into Berzin and Ugrumov levels of self-sabotaging any chance of winning the race here.

I'm looking forward to the proper GC stages and they get attacked and neither Del Toro or Ayuso ride together to chase them down

Just gonna throw it in; Roglic has a tendency to crash a lot. But Ayuso is also rather crash prone.

When Ayuso started out everyone said he was the new Pog. Now everyone says Del Toro is the new Pog. There's always a new Pog that isn't.

Lidl Trek might be the dumbest team in existence
Trek is racing absolutely fantastic!! Including a 3rd place today with ST sprint time.. And big factor was flatlander sacrifice!!
Pedersen absolutely smashing the pedals bringing break back!! Trek winning 40% of the stages so far and getting micro gain for Ciccone when there looked to be nothing there!!
Dumbest team award, in fact all podium places today goes to UAE!!
And if it's to be putting clowns in order, Yates, Ayuso, and McNulty all in hall of shame making Del Toro in pink pace himself, close gaps himself, attempt to jump across himself!! And the goon moves include burning Rafal Majka out of order, should have been Yates and McNulty used first , Majka( old man) doing long base pulls and pulling off after he explodes , should be different order!!
Del Toro may come up short skill for skill with Ayuso but he has 1000% more heart..3rd second place finish in this Giro, 2 being identical as he wins sprint while letting off gas!!

Del Toro looking good for the overall actually. On the big climb he probably looked the strongest. Will be tough for Roglic, but especially tough for Ayuso since they're teammates.

I wonder if Ayuso’s knee is stiffening up? Regardless, del toro looked better today, again.
Was pointing to it yesterday after the TT, and didn't look comfortable at the end today.

Apparently, the next few stages are fairly easy (?), which will hopefully give time to recover a bit more.

The question is how he'll do in week 3 and how he'll fare with hard mountain stages in succession. His recovery will be put to the test.
