Has Roglic commented after the stage?
Apparently he said like 2 lines to Slovenian journalists saying he was happy to finish the stage. Bora team director came out and said basically that they had tried to downplay the impact of the crashes and that the team doctor will decide if he starts on Tuesday.

I think he was getting there recovering from his first 2 crashes and then yesterday was a crash too many at the wrong time.

Some people are downplaying how weak he was in a stage tailormade for him (when Ayuso won).
Exactly, and he hadn't even had the accident yet.

I thought Roglic was a clear favorite after Catalunya, but that day it was strange that he didn't even compete in the uphill sprint.

I don't know if it's a decline that becomes more noticeable as the days go by, or if something has happened from Catalunya to the Giro. But the day Ayuso won, Roglic should have won or finished second like in Catalunya, and he didn't even try.

I think it's just a case of very obviously peaking for the third week in this back loaded giro, and three crashes then ruining the form.

With roglic it must be a case of old issues resurfacing with these crashes. The crash he had yesterday was not bad. Last time I crashed like that (similar speed, slight descent, bike slid out underneath me in the wet), I was riding to the gym and after the crash i did a barbell back squat PR. Such a crash shouldn't cause issues. But these guys have such low density bones and roglic has years of persistent crashing, that's what take the toll.

But in Catalunya, Roglic was better than Ayuso, and in the stage Ayuso won, Roglic didn't even try.
Roglic should´ve been at Ayuso's level the day he won the stage. But he wasn't, because a good Roglic would´ve competed that finish.
That day he hadn´t yet suffered any accidents.

The feeling is that he arrived at the Giro at a lower level than in Catalunya, when riders always arrive at the GT with a higher level than the previous race, and their level gradually increases over the three weeks.

Either it's a huge preparation error, or it's a sign of decline that he can no longer maintain that level from the preparatory race.

Verona from the breakaway?
Mayomaniac before the stage....

Congratulations to Carlos Verona Quintanilla for winning the stage.

Lidl-Trek hammering this Giro, sixth win. Some strange tactics seen from UAE and due to Bernal and Carapaz being active unfortunately Rogla shifting some time today. Clearly riding in pain, due to sustained injuries, mostly from stage 9 and 14. There is a slim chance Rogla will start on Tuesday, if by any chance yes, then hopefully for body to respond well and to put a mark on this race latter into the third week.
