The first multi-col mountain stage shows this Giro field is pretty open and there isn't really a stand out rider here. Unless Del Toro is keeping something for later.

You see him in front a lot, and then you make up the story ignoring how the crashes actually happened. Or you ignore events where he was further back int he peloton for it. Stage 6 crash happens in like 7th wheel with Hindley and Roglic is in front of it, and nobody is talking about it. Stage 1 a crash happens when Bora's are all near the front and the UAE's are mostly chilling in the back.

The 2 most important crashes this race were one he avoided because he was further back and one where everyone went down because he in fact wasn't close to the front enough to stay out of trouble.

Wonder what UAE are up to, could just conserve as much as possible all climb with a fakepace then maybe Del Toro could make an attack towards the end, then again if he's feeling good they could put the Giro to bed here. Yates and Tiberi both are rolling it over as fast or faster than Del Toro, both are going to jump him, even if he can counter it will cost him..if he gets swarmed soon got to go deep, deep and pay for the effort.

Tiberi's problem is that Tiberi isn´t a brave rider. He'll wait for Del Toro to explode, but he should attack him.

If UCI used drones instead of dozens of cars and motorcycles to create zero visibility in a road race, Roglic likely leading.. If you want gravel in road races, do it gravel style, self supported, can't have not seeing or breathing as part of the event!! Ambulance should have been the only dust plumes and that can be done from behind also!! These clowns can't establish any safety standards, more is done by discontent racers than union and Swiss goon squad!! Not being able to see should not be race design.
And just so my complaining is thorough, the people who bring smoke grenades to bike races and light them off in skinny crowded sections of the race should be sent to Albanian prison ..or forced to eat Pizza Hut w Remco commercials on repeat..
