Arensman pedaling like his saddle too low :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

One of the worse pedaling styles I remember witnessing.

If we ever do another overrated riders thread, Tarling absolutely needs to be in the poll. Doesn't stand out at all within the big blob of time trialists behind Evenepoel and Ganna.
How overrated can you even be, when you are still only 21?
Let's wait a little: the guy was born in 2004!

He was a puncture away from an Olympic silver medal at 20 years of age.
Yes, and? Affini actually medalled at the Worlds last year and nobody is talking about him as the best of the rest. Of course he could still improve at his age but he hasn't progressed at all since his debut season.

Gee and Arensman both confirming yesterday wasn't an offday. Both might be better off deliberately shipping time tomorrow.
I think they are both just slow starters/diesel guys.

And now Arensman talking about just being very nervous yesterday. He will get better. Similar to last year.

Not that many stages to make up time without going into the break, lots of opportunities to win from the break. Agree Arensman in particular should get better as the race goes on but it isn't the same calculus as last year.

Tarling was quite obviously off form post-Olympics, I don't think he had a single good performance from July onwards.

This year, in the only TT he has done, he put 1s/km into everyone in the UAE, and Affini has never done that. I like Affini and think he's a really strong roleur, but Tarling is clearly better.

He can still achieve a very good GC-result. He shouldnt give up that.

He lost time yesterday, but he can still gain back time on many of the others in the GC if he just goes solid and steady from now on.
