If nothing else, much like he was at Sky/Ineos, Carapaz is infinitely more interesting than anybody else that Vaughters has had as a GC bid ever. He's probably attacked more than any Slipstream Sports GC bid since, what, Carthy in 2020? Beyond that, Christ knows.

It has been helped by Simon Yates being possessed by the spirit of Adam Yates, but nevertheless.

Absolutely right tactic. Only stage where Carapaz took a lot of time was one with a lot of heavy climbing. He doesn’t beat Del Toro on short accelerations.

It might well be their best bet for the win, but it’s still psycho to do a sprint leadout on the first 2 minutes of a 1 hour climb and burn all your domestiques
