Just like in 2013 when cavandish won, the winner takes the line around the outside as the other better position sprinters fight with eachother on the inside barrier

WVA just kept riding. It was Klooj who sat up, and tucked himself back in the chase. Maybe they were trying to get WVA a win after his difficulties?
Wout really did nothing wrong tbf, he was in full domestique mode and brought back the sole attacker and gave Kooij a nice opportunity, unfortunately Moschetti decided to go full idiot mode

It's unfortunate but it sometimes happens in sprints.
If Kooij follows WVA he has 0% chances of getting boxed in. He put himself in a difficult situation, perhaps to give Van Aert a chance.

People don't want to admit or hear this, but crashes are a large part of popularity of cycling. Or let's say "something happening" is the reason for attention. The images of bikes thrown in the air behind a horde of sprinters just crossing the finish line is what we like to see on the front page. And while nobody wants to see riders being put into ambulances, everyone is a fan of flying bikes. Other than abandoning "flat stages" I see no way out of this.

Ok, just to support this a little, search for "Primož Roglič" on youtube. Among top results by number of views, you'll find his 2007 crash in Planica (ski-jumping), the "hay-bale" chrash and the "opi-omi". The Planica crash ways the most viewed Roglič video on youtube for a loong time.

You seem to like the crashes. A large part of the popularity of cycling? Definitely not, unless you think hard fouls is what makes football popular.

But it's on youtube!!! Yes, and only cycling fans are on youtube, right. And it's the cycling fans that watch those videos, sure. No, it's people like you that watch them, not the majority of cycling fans.

Moschetti? I see no reason for DSQ there, Moschetti has his line, Kooijs tries to squeeze too, makes Moschetti lose balance a bit which explains the second left swing by Moschetti.
