Not just the Giro, any raceI wanted to write that Vingo will be a difficult opponent but realized that Remco without external factors always wins the Giro.

Start in Bellinzona, 30 km flat until start of Motta di Gribbio (from south) then two loops with Motta di Gribbio and Cari. Only 110-115 km, but 3900 meters of climbing and basically not a flat meter in the last 80 kilometers. Would've been really cool, but a 115 km mountain stage with two loops doesnt sound much like a Giro stage to me. Maybe if it was ASO.I think probably we will see Remco at the Giro. About the swiss stage i don't think they will climb Nufenpass or Gottardo because i have heard that it would be a total Ticino stage. For me they will climb Cari two times or other ticino climbs. This climb Motta di Gribbio is very interesting and it would be a good option.
According to the last rumours we can have two itts, one in the first week and the other in the second week. Some sources speak about a flat stage with finish in Milan and a total swiss stage from Bellinzona to Cari. It's almost sure that the stage with finish in Madonna di Campiglio will start from Cassano d'Adda.
What’s a more competitive race- Pog vs Jonas in the 2026 Tour route or potentially Jonas vs Remco in the Giro, with potentially a very Remco friendly route? The Tour is designed to be close into the third week so I’ll go with that. But if it’s a soft Giro with say over 50k of itt, then who knows.

How can TTs be the race of truth when every post promoting them is propagandaYou DO know that 50 km of the race of truth is NOT soft.
first of all every legitimate GT should have a minimum of 100 kms of flat or rolling ITT.
And soft is the 1984 Giro where they cancelled mountain stages for no reason to benefit Moser.
100 kms of flat or rolling ITTs would force Vingo to attack like a crazy person. Why would that not be fun? Rather than seeing the lightest guy who can simply produce the most watts per kg on a climb win 10 MTFs. How is that a test of all around riding.
The 2012 Vuelta was THE worst race ever. The same 4 riders contesting 12 MTFs. The epitome of dull.
Modern GT routes have been a stain on cycling.
Based on what I've seen for week 3 of the Giro, 100% Remco has no chance whatsoever against 100% Jonas. Anything under 5 minutes of advantage would be erasedWhat’s a more competitive race- Pog vs Jonas in the 2026 Tour route or potentially Jonas vs Remco in the Giro, with potentially a very Remco friendly route? Fjuk, if they do that combo on the Piani Pezze stage, it could really be anything. Either soft pedalling until the last 5 kms or big attacks already on Giau, but I rather doubt the latter.....
In 2024, Vingegaard had a lead of ~3min on Evenepoel.Based on what I've seen for week 3 of the Giro, 100% Remco has no chance whatsoever against 100% Jonas. Anything under 5 minutes of advantage would be erased
5 minutes is probably a bar too high (it can definitely happen though). But I'm pretty sure you will have Remco fans telling you Remco was only 3' behind Vingegaard in the 2024 TdF (they live and die for this Tour, specially when they want to justify how good Remco is in GTs)Based on what I've seen for week 3 of the Giro, 100% Remco has no chance whatsoever against 100% Jonas. In 2024, Vingegaard was much much more injured in thay Basque country crash than Remco. If anything, Remco was closer to 100% than Jonas. Besides, for most of the Tour, Jonas wasn't even thinking about RemcoIn 2024, Vingegaard had a lead of ~3min on Evenepoel.
I mean, what I see here is Jonas could drop Remco on any of the 2nd to last mountain then have someone in the valley to pull him into the last climb and on the remaining stage, he could drop Remco on that 12% climb. Jonas can be super aggressive if he needs to be, otherwise we wouldn't have Granon on 2022, Tourmalet in 2023, Madeleine this year. All these cases Jonas attacked on 2nd to last climb5 minutes is probably a bar too high (it can definitely happen though). But I'm pretty sure you will have Remco fans telling you Remco was only 3' behind Vingegaard in the 2024 TdF.
5 minutes is high because Vingegaard is not like Pogacar, he is not so agressive and when he has a good gap for the second, he rides conservative.
