He supposedly took responsibility for some of it!

Evans' response
Sunny and more leisurely 206km here today. What looked to be sprint until some of the GC favourites attacked on the last little climb of the day. My fault for not being there, I didn't position myself very well. I was relying on Sky and Garmin to chase a bit more. Hence me getting frustrated with those who were purposely slowing down the chase, not the done thing in professional cycling. I let it be known to them, much to everyone's entertainment – sorry about that - not bad for a boring rider who never attacks, hey?

The group stayed away, with Vinokourov, Basso, Scarponi etc. gaining 10sec's and Pozzato winning the stage

First he misunderstands what we mean by "it's your race to lose", now it's when we say "you should attack more".

Damn it Cadel, get a grip.

Man, Evans steals the show here with the quote of the day.

"Evans attacks!"

So a sense of humour too.

Of course there was a time in pro cycling when this was very much the done-thing. Only more recently was it frowned upon to frustrate organised racing at the front. And to be frank, I am glad to see it making a reappearance. Another one of these "sporting conventions" I really don't get.

The bold part says it all.

For those who don't know, Evans is a bit weird, coz he spent much of his early life alone in a rural area, with just him, his bike, and sometimes a few Aboriginal kids, so we've gotta cut him some slack :D :p

That was evans' comment you know? He's getting aggressive with the fists but needs to get aggressive on the bike.

Did Righi get fined? He deserved too as much as evans.

Well... at least he has got a sense of humour! :p

And hey Evans, you should be happy! Normally the WC wouldn't be fighting for the GC lead in a GT... he'd be fighting to quench either injury or disease... you ain't cursed, mate, that's a step in the right direction!

Oooh... and btw... it's not the first time he has attacked people. Just in case anyone had forgotten; the infamous headbutt from 08 TdF

Honestly, it is hard not to like Evans with a response like that. I'm still rooting for him to make a comeback because it would be such a great story given the crappiness of his team and the fact that he's the GC rider with the greatest probability of being clean.
