Oh well, guess who decided nothing much would happen so went and did a chore?
Seen it now and all I can say is: there will not be a dull day in this Giro.

I thought the favourites would sit until tomorrow, at least, probably Monte Grappa.

Now, I'd bet the lot, it'll be the same tomorrow.

Evans? He needs to concentrate on 2 things:
1) The race
2) His left jab!:D

Evans tweets:
Unsporting slow-down tricks being played in a tired and frustrated chase group. My fault for not being in front.
Interesting that he now he refers to himself as "chase group".

Unsporting? I thought they called it team tactics.
Of course, that is something Evans would be unfamiliar with.

It might be a national accent thing, but I'm used to all those words being pronounced the same way

This may be where the confusion is coming from. In my Midwestern No. American, cars, jars, bars have a heavily voiced sound, as if written ...arzz. Farce et al unvoiced, as if written ...arss. When Schlanger pronounced the rider's first name at the TT World's, it was voiced. At the CC World's a few months later, unvoiced: Larss.

Is he, are we, going in the wrong direction?

It's unvoiced (although, technically, some of the voicing of the following "b" is transferred to the -s sound :p).

No, that was Stammie. Not that it matters, do you actually believe he can still do anything in GC?
How can you not believe in the GC of either Weening and Mollema, the way this Giro is going, anything can happen.
1 freak long-escape and they might as well be in pink ;)

That's what I'd thought I heard when I watched the Dutch CC championship on line. When I heard Schlanger say an anglicized equivalent at the World's CC Broadcast, I noted what I took to be progress.

Hadn't occurred to me there'd be much variation in how these sounds would be made in English.

Evans got a fine of 2000 Swiss francs* for his antics. Oh my god, hitting the team with the 7th biggest budget right where it hurts!

*1220 British pounds, 1419 euoros, 1801 American dollars, 2015 Australian dollars

Sure, I understand the need for some kind of punishment, but isn't Evans being a member of BMC punishment enough?

It's Rabo, they don't do successful breaks. Only pointless ones, that get you a jersey for most useless kilometres grinded away in front of a bored peloton.

It's a serious blow, though, to BMC's hopes of winning the ranking that really matters - the fair play competition.

Even having one rider left in competition to collect penalties can lose you the fair play competition, if said rider is Cadel Evans.

Tweet just posted , i have not seen the incident so i got no opinion.

laurenstendam In my opinion the World Champion owns more respect than some riders gave him today. If he wants to chase you let him chase!
