Euskaltel with back to back Giro wins, having never previously won a stage. 5th and 6th in the GC. Makes up for losing that "last to win a race" competiton to BMC.

Oh and the last km took nieve nearly 6 minutes.

Very impressed with Nibali today. He might not be at Contador's level, but he has immense balls.

**** all the mercenaries. Seriously.

Anton got dropped by Caltaldo, Sarmiento and Sivtsov on the last climb. He had a shocker. Sarmiento at 24 is showing something

I'm not sure who said it here but Nieve is definately a good rider. Very interesting stage anyway with lots of attacks and massive chaos. Nibali lost but at least he tried it downhill and hopefully scared Contador a bit.

Awesome stage, some awesome riding. Massive chapeau to Nibs for going for it, no one can slag him off for that. Nieve deserved that but like Garzelli and Contador they looked absoluley cooked at the end, Scarponi had a brilliant last 2km as well. Brilliant queen stage and I hope that ASO were watching...that's how to put on a days racing!

I doubt it. He ended up putting over a minute into him today.

To be fair, Euskaltel did say they were coming here for stage victories first, and GC second. They've now got two stage wins - and two incredibly memorable ones. This one today in one of the most epic Grand Tour stages we've seen in a long time (I'm actually tempted to rate it higher than all bar maybe Mortirolo last year, but I'll wait until some time has passed before making a judgment like that) - it's a shame Antón dropped so much time, but then again he wasn't exactly expecting a high GC, just hoping to do something with it if it arose.

Fantastic stuff!

Glad to see Kruijswijk do well after i stuck a few quid on him at 17-1 to finish in the top 10 overall, could just sneak in. Not so happy about my Machado top 6 bet though...

Agree. Who knows what might happen if they attacked contador, instead of helping him

best day of racing for the year anyway.
