Löfkvist always has something in 3 week tours. Maybe it's time he realised it's not for him. I mean he hasn't even had a top 10 in a GT yet

The break is confirmed to be the following 17: Vicioso, Brambilla, Sastre, Pinotti, Losada, Carpecchi, Pasamonte, Bakelandts, Tiralongo, Gatto, Cataldo, Seelydrayers, Tankink, Navarro, Downing, Deignan, Carrarra

There are 3 more in the gap at 25 seconds. The peloton is one minute down.
If the break stay away it could be very intersting.

The riders are bolded ride for teams yet to win a stage, and lots of teams have won stages this giro.

T-Lok never had a shot here, this Giro is way too tough for him, cold or no.

I have a feeling Sky will offload him at the end of this season.

The break is not working together, it looks like six have broken clear. Pinotti and Downing among them.

Sky really need something, Appollonio aside its been a dissapointing two weeks.

That's now about 9 weeks (60ish days) of GT racing where they have been less than stellar. One prologue win and a couple of second places is all I can remember.

Couldn't really expect too much with this lineup though.

Suppose you could add Thomas' time in the white jersey in the tour last year?

He took a second place early on as well. Not terrible for a first year team.

The peloton has taken it's foot off the gas and is back to 4'38, but Farnese Vini have started chasing.

I am not exactly inspired with confidence over the speed at which this whole Giro has been raced. Most days finishing well ahead of the fastest schedule. (exception being the uber-hard 15)
Today, at 50kph for the first 2 hours suggests riders are exactly as tired as
one would expect, mid week 3.

I will be amazed if Downing stays with this move until the finish.

[edit] Aaaaaand he's been dropped already. Oh well.
