Damn.
It's a ****ing dangerous job.

I think they were even reanimating him.
Those moments make me light up a zig.

All the best to Wouter.

It seems crude there's still a race going on. The Giro is all fine and dandy but in a situation like this it should be neutralised imo.

They may not know exactly what is going on, or they may be discussing it already.

I don't object to the TV shots I've seen so far of the accident, they were long shots and not in his face.

Hope he will be ok.

Well, it's good that the peloton moved away to make sure whatever emergency vehicle needs to get to the injured rider doesn't get held up anywhere. But yes, racing for the finish now seems weird to put it mildly.

the show must go on

Races have been neutralised for a lot less tbh, heck peletons have decided to neutralise races because they felt it was dangerous, this is quite a bit worse.

even as a recreational cyclist you never want to be reminded that such think can happen in our sport, I really hope they can help him.

they can't go around neutralising a stage or race everytime some1 crashs doesn't matter how serious the crash is

they showed a close up of his face. Right side of his face was horrendously misfigured, and an awful lot of bloody. Worst ive ever seen. Worse than Casartelli.

Host broadcasters need to be seriously held to account. I feel sick. God knows how kids who saw it are feeling.

They showed shots of his face. Horrific.
Then later they showed overhead shots of CPR being performed.

I just hope, hope, hope he'll be ok.

So what you're saying is if a man was dead (and if they had to reanimate him Weylandt was dead) that's not good enough of a reason because they're 'pro's'.

People who work in construction are also pro's, do you think they go on working if one of their colleagues dies from an accident?
