I guess I saw only one very quick close shot at the beginning, perhaps the camera guy didn't immediately realize how serious the injury was. Maybe there were other close in shots I missed.

I'm a bit more bothered that the commentators are not providing any update or paying attention to the accident. I've not heard any mention of the crash recently. Been checking some twitter feeds and not seeing any news.

They don't know any more than we do. Weyland is being attended to by the medical staff, and the first ones they will tell about how he's doing won't be the reporters, especially if it's as bad as I fear it is.
