The Rai commentators are talking about some appeal to do with a helicopter and a number, does anyone know what that means?

I guess I saw only one very quick close shot at the beginning, perhaps the camera guy didn't immediately realize how serious the injury was. Maybe there were other close in shots I missed.

I'm a bit more bothered that the commentators are not providing any update or paying attention to the accident. I've not heard any mention of the crash recently. Been checking some twitter feeds and not seeing any news.

They don't know any more than we do. Weyland is being attended to by the medical staff, and the first ones they will tell about how he's doing won't be the reporters, especially if it's as bad as I fear it is.

F*&k. Don't care about the stage. Just hope, hope, hope he survives and makes a full recovery.

Puts this cycling fan thing into a shockingly different perspective, doesn't it?

It does indeed :(

They certainly look like racing, I'm not sure if they have been told about Weylandt.

I'm sure they are. cavendish etc came to front and said something about the crash for sure. they were behind it

Probably too soon. Situation not stable or fully understood.

also the broadcasters prolly only realized what they were showing after a few seconds. and they haven't showed any shocking pics after that.

second that.

Although that might even prove Weyland is, relatively speaking, safe/fine/not in grave danger. Otherwise LeOpard riders would know and would not race, wouldn't they?
