Nothing against Basso, but that was criminal to have to watch the pink jersey pull him along.

It was. He should have released Nibali awhile back when it was clear he didn't have it.

Liquigas will have to go batshit insane. Should be amusing.

Liquigas are going to be absolutely furious that the pack didn't wait when Nibali crashed. I suppose the riders will say that with the conditions being what they were it was impossible to know what was going on.

No you are thinking of Mark Nicholas. This is Dave Harmon, he originally started out commentating on motorbikes

Bingo, the last climb has Vino written all over it. He might try to gain seconds there, with or without a breakaway up front. If they catch the breakaway early, there'll also be bonus seconds to hand out. With a, say, 20-30" gap from the climb and the 20 bonus seconds, you could almost gain a minute with a moderate effort. Vino is still peaking, I guess, but it's not going to last. The more seconds he gains in early stages, the easier it'll be to defend in later ones.

Such a climb is not where Vino can make the difference. It's more likely he'll hang on for dear life when guys like Scarponi, Garzelli, or even Evans have a go.

Oh dear...

Millar is in 3rd on GC! Alright!

And Richie Porte is back in the young rider's jersey.

Nibali and Basso are still in touch, thanks to their TTT performance, but they clearly had to expend a lot of energy today.

If Evans loses this Giro he'll only have himself to blaim I think. I can't see who could possibly beat him.
