In all fairness to Nibali-at least he was smart enough to avoid following that massive attack of Conta- Scarponi just thought he was somehow equal to conti and got blown off. the way I see it so far- Nibali and Kreuziger are the other podium steps

Whoo Hooo. Since he will probably keep the leaders jersey the rest of the race, I now have free time on my hands instead of keeping up with the Giro.

I used to be a fan till he won TDF in 2009. I never heard him thanking his team. He won the Tour de France ALL BY HIMSELF.

Not been a fan since ! !

****** off Lance.

Great ending to the stage. Bertie is clearly in a class of his own. Nibali and kreuziger seemingly the best of the other contenders. A few so called contenders probably out of contention already after this stage. Hopefully this giro doesn't become a contador procession...

That was lesson learned from the Vuelta from when he followed Mosquera and Anton came back to win the stage.

Based on my assumptions Contis performance wasnt all that crazy, bout 390-400 Watts for the last 10k even when you factor in the wind.

dude the hype was for the final week (8-9 days). If yyou had massive expectations your fault. The climb didn't have that steep gradients. And we got some pretty amazing gaps considering the gradient. This race would be epic at the moment if bertie wasn't here (think this is why people are jumping to conclusions that giro will suck)

A big result for Contador today but his biggest test is still to come and it's off the bike when he will have his CAS hearing.

Just couldn't savor today for even one moment?

I find Contador a hard guy to like. he's Looking really good though.

Hopefully there's some racing to come, and as others have said its not a rerun of the 2009 tour.

You must be joking.
That was actually better than I expected, given the second half of this race.
Arcalis was a total washout, bar a km or so.
