First bad news: Chris Horner didn't start today. His crash yesterday must have been worse than imagined. :(

Again a fast start: 47,2 km/h (29.3 mph) in the first hour, with many failed breakaway attempts.

By the way, yesterday's stage was raced at 40,2 (25.0), not bad considering the length and elevation gain (not much shy of 4000 meters).

Ouch! And he still was able to finish yesterday quite well.

Maybe it is one of those things where you don't really feel it that much until you cool down.

With the TdF about six weeks away, will Horner be able to provide support?

Pictures live now, from RAI, showing that Leipheimer has been on the deck!
Ripped shorts (a bit) and scuff marks down his left shoulder and back.

Certainly won't help him for tomorrow.

Looks like Astana learned their lesson yesterday and set the pace really high up the little climb. Perhaps a few sprinters were dropped, could be an interesting finale.

LA in the front during the decent. Seems like they're worried about LL. Maybe the fall earlier today shook him up quite a bit?

Garmin is at the front, so Farrar is probably somehwere close.

My tip:
1. Cavendish
2. Farrar
3. Petacchi

Or: Cancellera tries an attack in the last km.

What's the deal with Garmin starting their lead-out train so early? They've done this a bunch of times so far and the end up losing control too soon. Farrar ends up having to fight for another wheel and falls back a few spots. In Milan he was the fastest guy at they line but came in 3rd because he had to come from about 6th spot. You'd think that after the first few times of doing this with the same result they'd try something different.
