But that they let EBH walk is a bit more surprising. Goss appears to have similar upside to EBH but be more of a sprinter, so it could be interesting to see if HTC are willing to nail their Cav colours to the mast again or if there are some difficult decisions to be made by Stapleton.
They didn't really let him go, they did everything they could to keep him (they offered him a higher salary than Sky did!) but he didn't want to stay there and simply become a leadout-man for Cav. Ironically that's exactly what he'll end up as next year when Cav joins Sky...

I think NORDHAUG joining Sky is another reason EBH went to SKY.

Stapleton said he didnt want to bid EBH with Sky. so i always considered sky offered EBH more money. Well, I dont trust Stapleton too much but i believe he is a businessman and know how to earn more.

I dont expect Goss to leave. I was disappointed that EBH leaving and happy that Goss came. Like Libertine Seguros says, they are very similar styles. Goss quickly began to win and made up for the loss of EBH when EBH was just marking time with his bad luck. But with too many sprinters, Goss's leaving is a matter of time. If he leaves, I can see Degenkolb get the position...

he literally beat soler of his bike in giro 2009 causing him to crash and getting tendenitis and after the stage tried to fight soler. he's an abnoxious assh*le that I hope will soon be out of this sport.
Suggest you check your facts sunshine. Soler crashed as a result of his own team, Barloworld & Lampre not Columbia. Cav was brought down by the same crash and was naturally p!ssed off at losing the jersey in such a way. His actions towards Soler's bike were not particularly sporting, I'll agree but he didn't cause the crash you refer to.

HTC would be stupid to let Cav go.

If they let Goss go, I can't see him winning too often against Cav + train. If Cav went, surely some of his leadout would be off with him? Sky's train isn't up to Renshaw and co.

His first Classic of the year will be Milan-San Remo next week. "It all depends on the race," he said. "If (Mark) Cavendish is at the front, I'll probably help him, if not, I'll race for myself."

Goss said that? Seems like a smart dude. And he did some smart riding, staying in the front while letting others get caught behind a fall. :D HTC should hold on to him.

Don't think Goss would need to win too often against Cav+train. Goss can win plenty of races that Cav never could.

Yes, they've both won Milan-San Remo. But I think the Goss of 2011 would have stood more of a chance of winning MSR 2009 than Cavendish would have stood of winning MSR 2011. Different type of race.

He was quoting HTC tactic's, although it was a great ride without teammates :-

"Piva revealed that the HTC-Highroad team had a two leader strategy for Milan-San Remo with Cavendish offering a possible sprint option if the race stayed together, while Goss was free to ride for himself if the race split and Cavendish was not in the front group."

"Mark won Milan-San Remo and so it was right that he had a chance to show what he could do. He was motivated and that's why he started as team leader but that also helped keep Goss out of the spotlight and keep the pressure off him."

Well, with the ease they seem to find and recruit great talents I doubt they would hurt too much even if they lost both of them. Howards and Degenkolb could certainly keep them afloat for a year while they find the next great thing.

Try explaining that to a potential sponsor...

Well, if they do lose Cav and Goss it would be because they didn't have the budget to compete with the teams that signed them so they could simply tell the sponsors they they simply provided too little money to keep those riders.
