Having Contador in a race is like 10 christmases rolled into one.

When people said Contador might go early i thought, yeah right - I dont believe in fairy tales.

But he did it. He actually did it. And even earlier than we could have thought.

After everything, the Giro, the knee, the Mont Allesouts screwjob even when 5 minutes down, he thinks "screw this - all or nothing".

What a race he is giving us.

Gracias Alberto.

Thank you Alberto for reacting to your misfortune like a champion. You've won me over.

Just don't beat Andy ok? ;)

Like a true champion. This is the only way he can still win the Tour. For him only the win counts so it's all or nothing.

btw. This tour is becoming one hell of an epic ride. Despite the lame Pyrenees stages.

Has vino found a way to remotely control the top GC guys ? Seriously like I said with Andy yesterday if u blow and finish outside the timelimit you have proven to be a great time limit.

I take my hat off to this man. Win was largely out of sight, but he'll still attack to (maybe) take the stage and get a podium. Great stuff. This stage could be epic.

such an incredible fighter  I have to say to Contador-version we're seeing in this tour (not over-dominating everything) is the much more likable one to me and I really started appreciating him very much!

Yeah, it's so awesome when he gets all tackled up the night before and then kicks in the turbo the next day! He's the man!

This does it for me too. God knows what will happen the rest of the stage, but what AC has done now is already an epic attack that has blown the field open. Thanks Al, nice one.;)

The sad thing is a lot of people will probably get on Albertos back for not waiting for Evans. Reading the comments from chaingate on other forums, im convinced there are thousands out there that will do it.

Contador crashing one day, attacking on a descent the next, then cracking, then going for a crazy exploit, I will admit is fun to watch.

Contador winning the Giro by five minutes breathing through is nose is still boring.

its not his fault that he is that good. . . .

we are only seeing this because he is at 80% at best if he was at 100% the tour would be over and today would just be a parade

the man is a legend simple as that

It doesn't even matter if he ends with Cav on today's stage, he's already shown that he's a true champion - just like Andy did yesterday.
This is epic stuff we're watching, and a lot of it is thanks to Alberto

I don't like this guy. But I can't think of anybody deserving the win more today than him. He worked incredibly much.

First time ever I feel sorry for Contador. He rode an incredible race. Maybe, he attacked a little too early, but I guess he still tried to go for the overall. But Schleck didn't crack. Neither did Evans.

I guess that's what you call multiple grand tour champion style ;) They guy really is a phenomenon. But still...the french fries keep on booing him
