“I’m very bitter. I spent a night in the police station and it was like being in prison. The magistrate listened to what I had to say. They searched my bags but only found some vitamins that we all use and so they decided to let me go home…I’m going to ask for the counter-analysis and then we’ll see.”

"We did a physiological test on every rider who comes to the world centre. I can confirm that, during all the time that I was at the world centre, he had the biggest physical and physiological potential that came our way.

"All the potential was evident in the very first physical and physiological tests that we could do: enormous. It was enormous. It fell within the norms that we understood of Bernard Hinault in his day. On that level, it was the same.

"As for his technical background, he was very behind compared with athletes of the same level in Europe, and that was his handicap during these years."

No idea who said it but I'm guessing he/she is talking about Froome.

See, I thought Cofidis as I thought Millar or Gaumont would have been an earlier one. The last one suggested Moncoucou but didn't sound like something he would say (as evidenced when it wasn't him). Madiot was my 2nd thought for team boss, but I couldn't put the pieces into place for the other riders to back up my thoughts there.

FdJ?

Of course and part of the reason why I have a little more faith in them than in other teams.

I think that one's Riccò. I seem to recall him whining about being arrested, or maybe it was Beltrán. I think it's to do with one of the 2008 Tour positives.

"It was if I didn't even exist anymore. Before I tested positive, I had a three-year contract, a private sponsor and a house. And there were constantly people who were supporting me. Now I've lost my profession and I have nothing left but my house. I could use help now, but there's nobody left [...] I don't make any money anymore, and I have to pay fines and lawyers. Besides, I didn't exactly make a fortune during my first few years as a professional."

My hunch says an older one, but I can't really come up with a name right now so I'am taking a bet on JTL because his story fits the bill..

Edit: JTL didn't "test positive" did he.. So nevermind :)

Way older. This was during the 'disbelief' era when popped riders couldn't believe they get sacrificed. Nowadays they are always more cynical. Previous decade, for sure, but I don't know who.

Ha, I thought Hitch would be the one to get that one, seeing it's a post about an ostracized doper by me and doesn't look like something Lelle would say.

"Armstrong was an innovator, that much is clear, but without doping, an innovator who finishes 18th in the Tour, not quite the same"
