He is male, inactive, German, never startet a GT or a monument. He retired between 1990 and 2000. To my knowledge he was neither a cyclo cross rider nor a mountain biker. He never participated in an elite world championship race.
He has participated in a classic that used to have cobbles, but it was not Paris-Bruxelles
He hasn't participated in any noteworthy week-long stagerace.
He is not a relative of someone more famous.
He never participated in the Peace Race.
He has not participated in a Track World Championship, the Bayern, Hessen or Niedersachsen-Rundfahrt.
He was, by my definition, not a TT-specialist (à la Tony Martin), or a designated sprinter or climber as we know them today. He didn't ride the Henninger Turm but he was a pro.
He never rode for Telekom
He was not born in West Germany
He was active prior to 1990

I have to make a correction, he did participate in at least one noteworthy stagerace, but not one of those already mentioned.

Can't say for 100%, but if he did, the race in question was nowhere near World Tour level back then and he didn't feature prominently.

Tbh, there is really only one rider to which all of the above applies and who is prominent enough to be used in this game :D

Get a former GDR-citizen in here, they should figure it out fairly easily.

He was based in Germany, he took part in races both in and outside of Germany, but not outside of Europe.

Sportfreunde Lötzsch (Wolfgang).

Though you could argue that Lutz and also Didi Wiedemann were better known than him at certain points.

There we go :)

One of the great talents of his time, who knows what he could have achieved under different circumstances. He still won over 500 races, most of them as a sort of hobby cyclist. The GDR regime hated him, he had no support from them whatsoever, and was basically forced to ride only amateur races throughout most of his career.
The cobbled classic was Rund um Berlin which he won in 1983.

I ignored him because I couldn't believe he turned pro and raced until 1995 :surprised: .

Dieter Wiedemann is his cousin who tried to help him defect to the West but Fauniera's question related to brothers and sons. ;)

I remember watching the Sportfreund show on Arte TV but sadly I fell asleep during it (not that I found it boring, I was just tired). :(

Like all Easterners he was a "false" amateur though.

Agreed, I was surprised that he raced on so late, I knew about his 'comeback' of sorts in the mid-to-late 80s of course as Eastern Bloc cycling is something I'm really interested in, but his post-Wende career is something I knew little if anything of.

Anyway, onto the next:
Male? Yes
Active? Yes

Is he riding for a Spanish Team?

Is he riding for a Portuguese Team?

Has he ever got a Top 10 in the Volta Portugal GC?
