What if we sum up his 13 appearances? How many secs on TV we get? He is the "Spaniard" with more appearances in Le Tour.

He's the stage name of Russell Crowe's character in Gladiator? :p:D

Anyway, have we considered that maybe he's one of the X-Men and his superpower is that he emits a signal that interferes with communications technology?

Why is he not Trek's GC guy if he has such a good record?

Being given the title of GC leader would draw too much attention to him. No, he needs to stay anonymous and ninja his way into countless top 10 after top 10. :D

This morning The Anonymous one has called to my mind as I placed a small bet on him for Top10 two weeks before Tour but he was so invisible that I forgot it lol.:D Today I saw he is 8th.Magnificent.
True Ninja Style.

Menchov seems like a celebrity compared to Zubeldia. A stealth fighter.

That's six top ten finishes in the TDF for Zubeldia. Anyone know what the record is for most career top ten finishes? Hinault and Merckx have six, correct? Did Pou Pou or Joop have more than that?

Armstrong has 8 (all podium). Poulidor has 11 (8 podium). Zoetemelk has 12 (7 podium).

Do the teevee guys actually go out of their way to make it seem like there is no cyclist named Haimar Zubeldia? Why would they do that?

This dude lives in my hometown, Zarautz. When he goes for a walk with his wife he does it on the bike, no kidding. She walks, he rides slowly next to her.
Go tell him about marginal gains...

Perico Delgado had 8 or 9. He also has the most GT Top 10s in history.

Genius quote from Robert Millar.

Trek, otherwise known as Team Schleck, and as soon as Andy went home all hope left them. Actually that's not true, as they had to know he was a gamble waiting to go wrong but as one brother can't be without the other what choice did they have. Harsh it may be but once Fabian Cancellera didn't win the cobbled stage all hope left them. They haven't troubled the GC fight once or the stage victories for that matter and though they have been in a few escapes, if Jensie hadn't worn the climbers jersey for a day, then from podium visits no-one have noticed their presence. Zubeldia is 8th apparently.

Solid ride from Zubeldia today in Donostia. He was 7th, but lost out in the sprint for 5th to Gallopin and Vanendert. The Basques can be proud of him!

So proud that they only showed the first 6 in the results

Spaniards gotta be happy to see so many of their own at the Top of the leaderboard, not that it really comes as a surprise. Couldn't have drawn up a better profile for Valverde.

But the cameras were zoomed in directly on his face for quite a long time (10sec :D ) - clearly the producers were keeping an eye out for him. He came quite close to beating Vanendert in the sprint for 6th. Would they have cut the results to top 5 then? ;)
