Just posted the link in the Flandis links section:

From Nightline preview:

We asked Landis about his changing version of events.

Nightline: You realize you have serious credibility issues?

Landis: I think that'd be an understatement.

Nightline: You're an admitted liar and cheat.

Landis: What -- what is a person supposed to do when they make the wrong decision? I mean, are you committed to that path for good? Are you -- once you tell a lie, are you committed to tell that lie forever?

When a person, who has lied, finally confesses, it is rare that the confession, especially one that the truth of which has long been suspected, is also called a lie. Takes a special kind of stupid.

Prolly not intentional on Floyd's part, but that quote is a great contrast to LA's "I'll deny it to the end of time" shtick.

excuse me. The man with the phantom twin. The man who was found with blood from another person in his vascular system. Credible Tyler? Hah, you make me laff!

For once I actually agree with you. TH does have a credibility problem. But then again, usually one has to go to the unsavory types to catch other unsavory types. I mean, you wouldn't go to Bassons for this kind of information...

It is interesting. I like Tyler. I wish he had not gone with Ball. I do not know why Ball is under suspicion but I am sure it is not good. Tyler is intelligent has a way with words, the phantom twin always gives me and my friends a good laff....

I believe that is how the judicial system works verdad? In English speaking countries? Caught in a lie once, evidence thrown out. Right or wrong.

the answer to that would be "wrong".

Tyler could be concerned with Pharmstrong's affair with Haven being revealed?

LOL

"It seems like [Lance] has about five lives, living them all at once," says Haven Hamilton, the wife of cyclist Tyler Hamilton and neighbor. "When you're with him, it's all so casual, and then later when you think about everything that's going on, you realize that his life is. . ." she struggles for the word. "Humongous."

If this case ever gets to trial defense attorney's will point out that both Landis and Hamilton are sometimes incapable of telling the truth.

OK, fair enough, but do you see any problem for the defense when these 2 people who are known liars have their stories corroborated by other evidence? Do you believe that a jury would understand why they were lying then and now not lying? Or do you think the jury will conclude that these are two people that just compulsively lie even when there is nothing in it for them?

Wasn't the story that Tyler was one of the first ones who approached Steffen about getting a European "program," to which Steffen said no. And of course, Steffen was subsequently shown the door?
I believe it was after LA, TH, and KL (and others?) went to Morzine to train with Ferrari. It's in Walsh's book. He says Steffen says the two came to him and asked more abruptly about it. Tyler didn't do any talking. Tyler said he didn't remember any such conversation. I may try to look this up later.

Not even close. Time and again big fish have been convicted on testimony from guilty little fish corroborating evidence. Micheal Vick and OJ Simpson (memorabilia theft case) are two visible ones that come to mind.

The credibility arguments will need to continually evolve.
For Landis and Hamilton, it's "They are dopers, they've lied before."
If Hincapie testifies? He has big ears, so he can not be trusted.
Zabriskie? C'mon. He once wore a '70s moustache.
Leipheiner? Well, he's short.

I think it will have to come full circle: "Well they used to be on that doping USPS team with Armstrong, so we can't believe anything they say about Armstrong."

It's been suspected for some time by hardcore cycling fans that Hamilton would confess, even before this investigation started, it was only a matter of time. Despite the lies and his personal problems, most anyone close to Tyler says at his core he's a good person and a nice guy with a conscience. The same thing that eventually ate away at Floyd.

It's also been suspected for some time that the only thing holding back this confession is his wishing to hold onto his Olympic medal because apparently he feels he didn't dope any more or less than those he beat (and considering Eki, a former teammate at USPS, was the silver medalist...).

To me the medal, and staying out of jail, are what Tyler is hoping to keep a hold of on his side, and I imagine he's got plenty of stories to tell in exchange, and likely will.

Huh? Are you as forgiving to other guys who doped and fabricated extraordinary lies when they got caught? Or to only those that will help hang Armstrong? I suspect the latter.

I am forgiving to those who help the sport clean up. And part of what will help clean up is to expose the frauds of the past for what they are as a warning to those who have yet to even turn pro.

.

Marty Jemison and Tyler talked with Steffen at the 1996 Tour of Switzerland about how they needed to get on a program like the rest of the teams. Marty later punched Prentice for breaking the Omerta.

The new WSJ article says that Hamilton has been subpoenaed to testify before the grandy jury. If the prosecutor asks the right questions then he will get a chronological account of how the Postal doping program was set up.
