Nice. Maybe when you blow out your candles on your birthday you can wish for that as that seems a more appropriate time to do such a thing than Xmas. ;)

Agreed. People should not be deterred from saying Merry Christmas because 'it might offend somebody with different beliefs'.

I am offended.

I was going to make a donation in your name to the Human Fund, but not any more.

I am too! If people can have posts with a random hippie lounging around removed, then those nasty words must be removed as well!

You mean "Happy Holidays"!?

I always thought the PC garbage like the "Holiday Tree" they put up in some state capitals was just absurd. It's a Christmas Tree! Christmas is a holiday for everyone, and celebrated around the world and not only by Christians. It's a time of celebration. People don't say "repent, weep and convert, for the end is near", they say "Merry Christmas"!

From wikipedia:

"In 2005 the city of Boston labeled their official decorated tree as a holiday tree, and the response from the farmer who donated the tree was that he would rather have put the tree in a wood chipper than have it named a "holiday" tree."

Nice. Paris-Roubaix. Well, good chances are it'll be a wet one on that day anyways, so I'd ask for something you would not expect to get. Maybe BroDeal to contribute to the Human Fund? ;)

Except that (when you notice it) the Christ part of Christmas is kinda obvious. :p

Us atheists need something to celebrate. Festivus will do nicely. It's certainly better than a made-up holiday like kwanzaa.

So happy festivus for the rest of us!

As for the aluminum festivus pole, it should be replace by a carbon one. :p

Zora, just do it, or someone else will do first.

T-shirts, cups, cards...etc. full range and programme.

Holidays? It's called Christmas, f***ing Christmas. I only have it for the kids, it's boring. The same old sh*t.
I might know how I'm doing later and, if I do, I'll come and find you.
Is that OK? Wasted enough of my time?

Midnight shopping in a few hours. Most busiest I have seen as shopping centre was at 1am last year on Christmas Eve.

Amazingly it seems that not everyone is Christian and that non-Christian festivals also take place around this time of year. Some people, not being Christian, celebrate one of these rather than Christmas. Who'd have thunk it?

On another note, Festivus gets my vote.
As this forum is in English, and the preponderance of English speaking people are Christian, odds are that wishing another Merry Christmas will be appropriate more than a Happy Hanukkah, or Happy Festivus, or...

That said, as an atheist, I celebrate the winter solstice most, not because of any faith-based belief, rather from here on out the days are getting longer.:D Also, given how close we are to the 25th of December, I find Merry Christmas as perfectly fine, as it is as much a recognition of the holiday as it is a religious expression. (e.g. Happy Thanksgiving, Happy 4th of July, Happy Veterans day, Happy Birthday...)
