With Shell and BP sponsorship for national team, Total Energies sponsors 2 team on WT
, Chevron sponsors one of the oldest races in US, Manhattan Beach Grand Prix, UAE, Bahrain, Astana all have fossil fuel angle to sponsorship.
Everything, I mean everything in cycling from head to toe, including sunglasses have petrochemical elements, bicycles themselves are built using a petrochemical intensive processes, team buses, ambulance, helicopters, support cars and motorcycles in every race big and small..
Maybe some of the commenting riders can't see forest through the trees.
Be careful going after petro people or we will be back to wearing Decca wool jerseys and shorts with a chamois from a sheep farm..
After seeing modern fabrics and anti bacterial short padding I might just hug and kiss a guy at a random gas station, just because! Or call some oil company exec and explain clammy chamois and intensely painful boils that were common before dinosaurs were used to make bike clothing!! Thank you oil companies!!!!!
I love you!
Dear TDU sponsors, thank you, thanks for your support, thanks for stepping up when dozens or hundreds didn't put money were their mouth is,

and if they were that worried about the climate, Im not quite sure how they expect all the world tour teams to get there, take a 3-8month sailing boat instead ?

no of course no they all got on a plane, including the ones moaning about Santos, like there are what 3 types of companies in Australia, Energy, mining and banks who fund the energy and mining companies.

and I dont know why theyre so keen on Renewi, they do know their UK listing is now owned by an Australian investment company, Macquarie right ? the same investment bank who once owned Thames water (and anyone who was a customer of theirs know how bad they were) and who spent a couple of billion dollars once buying an Australian energy company in WA...that Santos bought off them.

Monster ride from Rüegg, 3vs1 and nothing UAE could do about it
Ruegg won the race despite not being the strongest. UAE having numbers in the final was no advantage because the last 6 kms was downhill. The mistake UAE made was after the first climb of Corkscrew on 5he descent when they had 2 riders it had to be Garcia who attacked and got the 30s lead for the final ascent of Corkscrew. She would not be caught. it's also a fail by Jayco because they refused to bring Garcia when she was on the team. She could have won the 2025 edition

Well what a final. UAE had the numbers but lacked a good plan? To me it seems like they tried a little but were worried to distance one of her riders with the attacks. And it looked like they had no plan which rider of them should win the race. To me it was clear if you go to the finish line with Ruegg you will lose the sprint, the last attacks on the flat were more of starting the lead out for Ruegg then distancing her.
What they could have done better? Hm difficult as it was mostly downhill after the climb. But at first try harder on the climb do drop her, no need to get with three riders over the top of the mountain. They rode nearly 600 m together uphill, go attack her there, on after another and put your last attacks over the top and in the first meters of the downhill, don´t give here any rest. The most important thing in my view go all in with your attacks, even if you distance one of your three riders. It seems like non of them tried hard enough, they all safed a little because they wanted to win the race..

I thought they lost it when Blasi nearly went clear about 300m from the top of Corkscrew Hill, and it was one of her teammates that followed. That was the time to make the pressure on Ruegg count.
