Started new meds last night. Slept like a log for the first time in months, and today sitting on the sofa typing this my HR is down to 72, thats a drop of ten bpm compared with normal. Feel like i want to go to sleep though, damn tablets. But my obscene heart rate is very much mentally related.

Part of this poll is motivational.. there is no way I will not finish and let Dekker_Tifosi, Hairy Wheels, Michielveedeebee, Straßenrennen, Sum_of_Marc, Willy_Voet be right.. And im damn sure Im not letting philcrisp, Rip:30, Tibber, usedtobefast be right by finishing last. And if it means half killing myself Im not going to let maltiv, PCutter, pedaling squares, The Cobra be right either by finishing in the bottom ten ;)

OK, move this thread to the CLINIC.

Ive checked, everything im on is ok, im legal :D

Hey....if you need a backdated TUE, just call ;)

I'm undecided on where you will finish - need more info:
Is your hair unkept or neat?
How long have you abstained from sex?
Blur or Oasis?

Seriously -just being there and fighting for that first corner is what it is all about. You're physically fit, so just control it for the hour.

May I make a suggestion - don't bring your HRM to the race. You WILL be 160+ in the hour before and will dig beyond when you race - but you don't need constant reminding of it when you look down.

Enjoy yourself.

Lets have a poll.

First cyclocross of the season for me on sunday and the first race for me since, erm, 1993 :/

Training regime has gone to pot, august and september went fine, but then in october weather has interfered and ive just realised four days before the race that i havnt actually been out on the bike for 8 days.

Couple this with the fact I suffer anxiety and therefore breathlessness, and im on new meds which may or may not make me drowsy (but then if i dont take them I have insomnia), Im also awaiting a blood test to see if I am anemic.

Counter this against the fact that I am in fact slightly psychopathic and enjoy a bit of pain so sometimes my determination outweighs my ability.

So how will I do?

I voted DNF because of the above reasons and to motivate you of course.
Make it a day no one will ever forget ! :D
Starting in the first row is half of victory and essential.

Good luck and come back in one piece !

Maybe overdosing on dodgy chinese/spanish cow meat could be beneficial.

Pegasus are looking for riders and you may have a chance of a one year contract in their off road squad if you do well.. good luck :)

O Dim, Dim, wherefore art thou Dim?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love
And I'll no longer be a Capulet.
How did it go dim?

^What he said. Perfect strategy.

Plus, the inevitable photo of the winner doing his pistolero will likely show you just behind him. You can tell your grandkids you got 2nd.
2nd hell. I'd try to sprint past the guy at the line to steal his thunder.

Perhaps "die while racing" should have been an option.

Yup.. I think we all need to face up to reality. Dim is dead. He went out the way we would all like to go: In the saddle. Although most of us would like be taken by something a little more manly than an anxiety attack brought on by testosterone poisoning. Even so, rest in peace, little dude.

Somebdy tweet Wigans with the bad news.
