During the workweek I get up at 4:00AM. If I'm riding my bike to work, I'm out the door at 4:30AM. After an 11 mile ride to work, sometimes I go for a run. Then a shower and I'm ready to start the day. If I'm not riding my bike to work, I'll drive to the pool and swim with my team, or I'll go straight to work and go for a longer run. I used to ride my bike to the pool, and then swim for an hour, but I've changed pools and that's not an option any more. I've been doing this for 15 or 20 years. The only mornings that are hard to get on my bike are in the winter when it gets cold, below 0 C, but when that cold wind hits my face it definitely wakes me up. I agree with the other person that it helps to lay out all of your kit and equipment the night before.

modern clothing has made the wake up way easier. I own a couple of items that are incredible. A Spiuk jacket and vest that make riding in snow pretty easy. Also Pearl Izumi Amphib tights were suggested to me and it's like winning the lotto. If you mess w different glove, hat combos you will find that being warm and dry makes getting out early much easier.

The night before, plan your ride say to yourself want to reach such and such a point before -:--am (usually a couple of minutes earlier then you'd expect to take) then you'll do it.
