I pack my bow or gun (unloaded) on my back and ride the logging roads or levees in stealth mode. A lot of times I'll ride right up to a deer. They don't know what to think. My hunting buddies don't know what to think either and laugh too, until I come back with a nice one. Works great, saves gas, and its my own style of cajun cyclocross.

4...but I had to get rid of a garage's worth when I moved (my wife is relatively supportive of my addiction...)

1. Vassago Jabberwocky 29r SS
2. Scott Spark 30 (to race, but the more I ride my SS the less I enjoy it...)
3. Specialized Roubaix (commuting and long miles, etc...)
4. '82ish Schwinn steel frame SS...sitting on my parent's backporch, sadly not being ridden much.

How do you get a dressed deer back on a bike? Do you have photos of your setup?

I drag the critter to an access road or levee and then come back with a friend's 4 wheeler or truck... Tried using a cart one time, but if there is a lot mud, forward progress is tough.

Thanks. Good thread and your stories of using your bike for hunting was a new one for me.

I have 4:

Giant TCR roadie
custom SS roadie - run w/ fixed/free hub
custom SS mtn - rigid 96er
Brodie dual susp mtn

Deer hunting on a bike.... cool. Considering how many deer I run into maybe I should learn from the "do you pack heat on a ride" thread.

I'm sad to say that two of these are gathering dust. Right now, I'm loving my golf clubs more. :p

I just remembered, when I went to the Tour in 2007, there was a Colombian guy, a doctor who lived in Miami, Fl, and he owned 34 bikes, and also had 125 clocks (that I'm kidding about). OCD or what?
