A great rider who's had a lot of wins stolen over the years, IMO. Hard to think of a better all-rounder or teammate. My favorite Jens memory was the mountaintop finish in Deutschland Tour a few years back when Levi dropped him on the climb, only to have Jens come roaring out of the tunnel and catch him at the line-- and then put a minute into Levi in the time trial the next day.

As for his remarks about cobbles the other day: people need to remember that he has been (and for all I know may still be) an elected representative of the pro riders, and often expresses anger over anything he perceives as unfair or unnecessarily dangerous to the whole peloton, not just himself.

Provides the perfect alternative to LA in terms of response to doping. If LA had the same humility then there wouldn't be the hate. But come on, a guy at his age riding the way he did yesterday....no way. In a dirty sport he's a great guy though.

eh i used to think he was one of the best riders out there cause he was a dedicated hardcore workhorse. but after his compaints about the pave in the tdf i lost respect for him.

but i rekon Riis put jens and cancellara up to complaining because they have such a big name and huge sway on opinion. How else would they have steralised the stage where andy crashed. Smells like Riis pulling strings...

He's just one of those riders who is difficult to dislike unless you're one of those people who dislike people simply because everyone likes them. (Did that make sense?)

that made sense.

One of the greatest guys in cycling, still active and already a legend.

I hope he'll enjoy his retirement with his 6 kids. I heard he wants to open a bookshop, so I'll try to find out where and hopefully be able to go there some day.

Isn't it just 5! :D
But anyway. Last year he said something about TdF being relaxing for him... because of those children...

In the beginning Jens explain why he used to drink so much coffee... I'll say one word! Trucks!

Count me among the Voight fans. He seems to genuinely love what he's doing, is selfless and an asset to the team. The sport will lose one of its best ambassadors when he retires.
