I always wondered if it's really true from the july-fans, guess i know the answer lol So many threads for the tour...prob already more than for the entire giro ;)

Andy should go for stages, don't think he has it to be good in each MTF, he'll crack in one.

What month did you register Miburo?

I would really like to see him competitive in a few stages, but I'm not holding my breath.

I voted DNF, but it would be refreshing to see him finish the race and exceed my expectations.

Unfortunately I think it will most likely end up in a DNF unless he becomes SuperMan and is indeed able to compete for GC. If he miserably loses time in the first 10 stages he will most likely abandon then do all the tough mountain stages.

Heart clearly says / wishes that he finishes in the Top 20 at least. Mind saying something else....

Devolder solos to the Belgian championships = RS on the way up for a good tour, don't be surprised!!!

Schleck will be ready, his good old team too.

always comes good in july regardless of what he's done in the earlier part of the season...

Still, if he drops below a certain level/place/time I reckon he'll call it and climb off. I'd take a punt that that's around the 20-25th mark.

If his form has improved, I would hazard a guess that he'll finish 10mins+ down on the winner. So somewhere in the placings between 5th and 20th. The time trials won't as ever be his friends.

If he continues his 2013 form, DNF or well, well down.

at the tds he was showing great signs of improvement, but then at the luxemborg champs he got smashed by club riders  so i'm not sure. Was thinking top ten was possible, but now i'm not sure

No Vino option, so DNF.
I'll think he'll get sick like Wiggins and drop out of the race during the final week after having a hard time in the Pyrénées.

hey what's the vino option mean?

His goal should be, first and formost, to ride into Paris (on his bike!), finishing the 3 weeks. It will be a test of his mental toughness to for the first time, go into the Tour unable to compete with his gc rivals. I don't see him having the form to do that and how he responds to that scenario will determine what his ultimate Tour outcome will be. He's been saying that he's not being overly ambitious in terms of his anticipated performance so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he's matured through this period of adversity, developed a degree of mental toughness that may have been missing/or lost before and that will carry him to Paris. A top 30 finish in the gc with a valiant but unsuccessful attempt at a stage win.

Ah, the days of Andy being the national champ, RR and TT, and the L-B-L and Tour winner seem like a distant memory. Even Wiki stopped listing his results on his page after 2011.

He hasn't participated in a GT for the past 2 years. I just can't see him being physically and mentally ready for a 3-week race. His heart just ain't there.
