Other than del Torro, Carapaz, Gee and Bernal look to the be the ones on an upward trajectory. Ayuso and Yates not to be discounted but Carapaz looks the best of those chasing del Torro and along with Bernal has the knowledge having already won a GT. Great to see Bernal being aggressive but looks a step behind del Torro and Carapaz.

Another day where Del Toro looked much better than Ayuso. It now must be his interests that dictate the team's tactics, unlike today where they rode defensively for Ayuso. That will make it harder for Carapaz and Shates to crack him.

Voted for Del Toro last week but I still obviously had doubts. In week 2 though, he has looked like the strongest rider in the race. He was also following the attacks from other GC riders comfortably. Week 3 is a different beast though. Anything can still happen in that hard 3rd week. He can still crack but don't know when that day would come or if it could still come.

Bernal is riding wonderfully well, but he doesn't really seem to be getting anywhere, and 3:38 is just way to much time to make up on a rider who is looking better anyway. I suppose IDT might concievably be overextending himself - and whatever others are saying we still haven't seen him on a ferociously paced true HC in a super tough stage after a long race. But I don't have faith in Carapaz or Yates, so even then I would probably bet on Ayuso taking it - especially through team strength. So the only other option than UAE remains the off chance that Roglic is performing way below his potential, and takes the high seat at what turns out to be a kids' table come Finestre.

I think a podium with Gee, Roglič and Ayuso in any order would show both the yaters and the haters, but Del Toro does look like the strongest now. I don't find it unlikely that Bernal and/or Carapaz will end up dying from their own attacks.

Carapaz.
Next Del Toro, Ayuso. Actually they might be more likely, but since I like Carapaz...
The Giro starts Tuesday, this was basically a 2 week prologue some crashing thrown in. And today a Roglic-collapse. As good as Del Toro looks, he'll have to show he can do it on actual mountain stages.

Yates? I see Tiberi with better chances than Yates.
Gee: From amazing all terrain escaper in 23 to Top 10 in his first GT GC try in the Tour 24, thought he could be a guy to challenge, second attempt, everything better. Didn't start of well, now seems there, when it really starts. Better chances than Yates too.
