Joe Papp, if you like maps and you are still bored, you could check this out: The Carta Marina

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ea/Carta_Marina.jpeg

It is a handdrawn map of Scandinavia and part of Balticum from the sixteenth century. It is not very accurate, but it has lot of colorful details: It show what the locals looked like in different provinces, what they hunted, what the terrain looked like, which animals you would encounter, what the local rulers escutheon was and where there were local conflicts. Also where to look out for malstroems, flaming mountains (Iceland) and seamonsters which might sink your ship.

I once got a huge jigsaw puzzle with showing an old map of the earth. I can't remember quite which it was, but it might be this or something similar. It's cheap and will kill weeks of time.

I guess I have then. (I don't follow the clinic forum).
I don't blame you, to be honest.

Joe's story has been around before that though. First as he wrote some for CyclingNews, then because after being caught, he testified at the Landis trial, which made big news.

But if you don't want to follow the "ugly" side of the sport, at all, I understand (not joking about this).

Hey Joe, if you need something to help kill the time, have you thought about learning an instrument?

I was in a similar situation a few years ago where I was basically house bound with glandular fever for over 3 months. During that time I got re-acquainted with my guitar and learned to play the trumpet.

Dr Who was also good for passing the time, there are so many seasons that it will take months on end to watch them all.

Hey, you know what they say, that intelligent people don't get bored? Maybe that's because intelligent people don't get themselves into such a situation...

Now that gave me the laugh of the day. Thankyou. Wait till the catch you streaming cycling races and "throw the book" at you. Oh we didnt know we are already a criminal at a young age? Dear me.

I don't stream cycling races (that much)
Why would I when most of them are shown on telly?

euhm no :p That's why we stream :p

Most of those I have interest in seeing are. Besides; most of those which aren't are either US or Aussie races, unfortunately they have a rather bad show-time from my PoV. Much as I love cycling I also quite like getting some sleep...

True, but US races mostly finish at 1 AM, it's doable :p

House arrest? For what? B/C he dealed some amounts of PED´s to junkies? And b/c he came forward? Seems those who denial live better (see my avatar:mad:). A shame that the prsosecuters always shoot the messenger.

Omg, the whole US-Administration should be in prison for 1 Mio years for what they did, plus the tobacco company managers/owners, plus the chemical companies, plus, plus, plus... what a hypocrisy. Welcome plutocracy, hang the small guys only... I could vom... now.

Hi man...no worries on hijacking her. It's all good, and it provides more to read. I am having a tough time with the social isolation and feeling cut-off from the world, but it's better than prison. I haven't checked this thread since I first posted, actually, but will read through it now and catch up ;)

Cheers.

What if he had been dealing meth? Crack?

Blago didn't do much more than be your average Chicago politician, and they tossed his sorry ass into the slammer for 11-17 years....while Tom DeLay still walks free.

A cop in NY gave a gang of robbers tips, a police scanner, and a hydraulic ram to bust through doors, in order to rob drug dealers and other thugs. No one was physically hurt in the process. If you were on the jury, what sentence would you have recommended for the cop? Think first, before following this link to see the result.

Was Bernard Goetz a criminal, or hero? Ellie Nesler?

Maps are cool, of like 50 -100 years back.

And then cross reference them with modern, up to date maps and then see the terrible sprawl of urban, newbuild sh*t housing estates where there was once open countryside or forests etc.

Well thats South/South East England and maybe not The USA.

Joe, do you have a wind trainer or rollers you can use? Sure you can't go for a ride but you can have something to take your mind off things. If you have a good broadband plan, cyclingtorrents.nl is a great place to visit.
