And the UCI is complacent. So says Pierre Bordry the head of the French antidoping agency AFLD. He says antidoping is the less professional part of the UCI

Pat McQuaid refuted the allegations of course.

The AFLD and the UCI are working together on the testing in this year's Tour.

There was speculation last year that riders were caught because they were used to the UCI's relaxed chaperoning after stages. Remember Beltran trying to escape testers by riding through a field after the stage.

Lance is riding Tour of Ireland ofcourse, which Pat's brother is heading.

Are they paying 150k US per stage, which is roughly what he was paid at TDU. I think about Au$1million- converts to aroun US$750k.

So, is Pat's bro getting a discount?

And with the Giro start fee, is Lance being paid more in this de facto salary start costs, than he ever got paid when he was at USPS/Discovery?

US$2 million, plus $750k, plus any more start fees?

This, after said he would take no salary from Astana, and he was back to publicise cancer. Publicise for his own pocket.

The Tour of Ireland has been reduced from a 5 day format to a 3 day.... because of the economic conditions.
Amazingly though the organizers have already said it will revet to a 5 day race again next year.

As for the UCI - its a bit like in the movie 'Pushing Tin' one of the management of the Air Traffic Controllers stating 'that the safety of the passengers and crew was one of their highest priorities".

actually, astana already enjoyed a bit of leeway after the team time trial last week.
after crossing the line they all went straight into the team bus, and locked themselves up in there for 15 minutes.
the chaperon waited for them outside the door (see picture at the bottom of the link).

They're every bit as dirty as USP were, which is some claim to fame. I am curious to know who Alberto's doctor is these times...I thought it was Ferrari.
