Admitadly Contador is a superior rider to Leipheimer, the Schlecks, in GTs.
Admitadly the Giro is a superior race to the ToC, by a large margin.
Admitadly Gilbert is a far superior one day classics rider over any others.
So, why place hate on those who are not superior.
Why not let others root for the underdog sometimes?
If people get excited about riders like Danielson,T. why not let them have their fun. Why smash our heads like Gallagher smashes a watermelon?

Because we don't think you can take so much disappointment in your (Shleck fans) life. We're softening the blow, and people say we're haters. We care! :)

The Arenberg forest does constitute a counter-example, an exception one might say, that I had not thought of, so thank you for bringing it up. There would be several possible explanations for it, but it would get us into a whole different discussions where we would again, I am afraid, disagree.

It puts the Contador being weaker than Andy Schleck theory to rest because he lost 01'13" in that stage because of bad luck and Saxo taking advantage of the situation.

Let's hear it then. How could Saxo's tactics in that stage possibly be considered "fair play" in anyone's mind?

This is another quality Schleck related thread. There can never be too many :D

Following on from a couple of earlier posters:

Alberto Contador in a 20km ITT vs. Team Time Trial Schleck. I reckon this would be a fascinating contest. It's totally flat. Now if it was up around 40kms then I think the Schleck's definitely win (sharing the work will have a greater effect the longer the distance), but about 20km? I'm stumped :D

And by the way, what's the deal with the Smilies limit? Smilies are awesome! The more the better.

The Cyclingnews Forum: otherwise known as Smilies and Schlecks. :D
