This is where I get so ****ed-off at guys like McQuaid. I'm no genius, but I read articles. And I remember what I read. Apparently I remember these details for decades. And so do many others.

I get ****ed because McQuaid can't remember his own lies as well as I can remember his quotes from what seemed like totally random articles, years ago. I hate it when he assumes everyone is crazy or an idiot.

I kinda like it...

It's like giving him a shovel, while he's busy digging with a spoon.

Sorry, I cannot scan and not going to the hassle of taking a photo etc. Page 86, November 09, article by Stephen Farrand called 'Armstrong in Ireland, the changing face of a champion'.

Pat McQuaid is quoted in the article eugolising over Armstrong as usual.

"He's got a huge amount out of cycling, but now hes prepared to put it back in and help the sport"Only if the price is right of course.

Yeah by hopping off his bike just before thousands who had lined the streets got to see him.

The fine print "What does Lance Armstrong really do to fight cancer".

Off to get my copy shortly.

I did hear of an undercover employee for one magazine but I don't think this is it....

I was of aware of this publication.

Just read Gifford's piece. Very balance view that shows how muddled and confused the Livestrong mission and the public perception is.

Print only.

IT’S NOT ABOUT THE LAB RATS
Surprise! The Lance Armstrong Foundation donates almost nothing to *cancer research—its mission now is about *patient advocacy and “aware*ness.” And lately it has played an additional role: helping Armstrong fight off intensifying accusations that he doped his way to the podium. By Bill Gifford

I realize this thread is bumped from 2010 - but this article is new?

"Survivorship/Awareness" and "intensifying accusations" are sooo 2010 too.
Wake up and smell the coffee Bill Gifford. Keep up please. 2012 hello.

It's from the Feb 2012 issue of the magazine. Seems like it's new. And pretty straight-talking.

The magazine is already on the stands. It will be online Monday

Thanks. I go hunting tomorrow morning. My local news-stand didn't stock it.

Interesting to note their financials haven't been updated since 2009.

Charity Navigator still rates them as high even though they haven't submitted any financials in almost 3 years?

Strange.

To be fair, financials aren't prepared until the following year. Therefore it is less than a year since the 2010 financials should be available and of course the 2011 financials will not be expected for a few months.

The period in question isn't almost 3 years but less than a year.

Not sure exactly about the US, but in Australia the financials must be presented by 30 September in that financial year ...

so 2010 accounts should have been available (and audited) by 30 September 2010 - ie 16 months ago, and 2011 accounts by 30 September 2011

In any case, it is not ok for a charity to not present its accounts by the end of the next financial year!!!!!

I was thinking about buying one of these spin bikes. Should I be concerned about the warranty with all of these rumors swirling around?

Nope. It's personally endorsed by the nice Mr. Armstrong, so everything will be all right. If there's a problem, he personally jets to your house to fix it. Or so I read on an internet forum.

It would be difficult to have audited financial statements for a year ending December 31, 2010 available by the end of September 2010. Maybe Australian accountants are just a lot quicker than elsewhere.

Australian FY ends June 30... It's September 30 in the US isn't it?
