When King asked whether he had been stripped of his Tour win, Landis detailed, "It was taken away by the very same lab that's making these allegations," he said of his 2006 Tour de France title. "It's odd to me even more so now that they've made the statement to you. The reason this story is out there in the first place is because of an assertion made by this lab that now says they don't have a comment," he lamented. "So they've started this story and now they don't want to comment on it and I'm here to defend myself and I'm put in a position again where I have to deny this."

I don't disagree. I was suggesting that it would be disingenuous to believe or for Arnie to argue he didn't know the documents were stolen.

i doubt it would stop him from claiming that though. i'm curious if they'll be able to show a money trail from the hacker back to baker/landis. i don't know about the french legal system but in some states the rule on co-conspirators testifying against each other requires some corroborating evidence, direct or circumstantial, so timing of payments and cash withdrawals would be interesting to see.

He's working way too hard and he hasn't failed to provide spin on any of this posts on this thread. He's revealing subtle things that are not in the public domain. So either he's full of crap, or he's on the inside. Although, I don't think he's a lawyer, because he's gotten too much of the Criminal Procedure stuff wrong.

Unlike Brower I do not have a dog in this fight. He has spent the last 4 years of his life trying as hard as possible to confuse and obstruct. You make take that as an insult, but it is fact.

$550 - one week in a 3 star hotel in central Paris.

Getting around Paris is relatively cheap -he could rent a 'Velib' bike for $2 a day- so $1500 should cover flights, hotel, food and transport.

I am good for $20.

Landis specifically states in the first minute of that interview that he did not use in the trial any documents that he did not obtain through the discovery process.

He then states that he was never served any summons or received any warrant.

Dr. K. then states that Joe Papp was the "star witness" for USADA!

that depends on the 80,000.00 being sales or profits. they said that he earned over 80,000.00 which would be sales less cogs (cost of goods sold)

admittedly i have no idea what markup is but sales figure could be quite a bit higher. and that is what his plea covered, who knows what actual figures and time frames may be.

all this is of course theory, so i'm certainly not stating it as fact, but i'd be curious to know the whole truth in the matter.
