Good to see that Floyd can afford a last minute flight and hotel room to NYC for Kay and himself but cannot afford the flight to France. The fight to France might be cheaper as it is only one way.

'the very lab that took my title away now has no comments'

so much distortion and untruth in just this one phrase.

phew, what a creep.

With all those "Tweets" about writing a book I thought our man was getting closer to a confession. Looks like Lance got him the gig on Larry King because I'm not sure anyone in the US would give a ***.

Also Q: "did you hack into the lab?" A: "I wouldn't know how to"

- a better question would have been "Did you ask anyone or pay anyone to hack into the lab on your behalf?"

He's unbelievable. Almost everyone caught had started the same story "i'm innocent", "they framed me" and stuff like that but in the end there's the same outcome. What does it take for him to understand that we don't think he's innocent and there's no way he can prove it anyway? He's so pathetic...:(

maybe they went dutch :D

Why on God's Green Earth did Flandis get on Larry King? He's become an irrelevant person to begin with. This was just pathetic of CNN and King to even grant the interview. King showed once again he does little or no research on his subjects, and asked only set-up questions, and didn't counter any of the BS. This was just a one-way portal for FL to hit some mainstream with whatever propaganda and lies he wanted to say.

I love the part of trying to focus on him "never being served a warrant". Floyd should try calling up an attorney and asking him how well this will hold up in court. And yet, they knew about the warrant. Imagine a bank robber, a fugitive of the law, out on the run sleeping in vans, if he used such an excuse. Why not just say "They never actually found me, so therefore it doesn't count."

My other favorite point is about "the lab" taking his title away. As if USADA arbiters and CAS had nothing to do with that.

Dr. Kay. then states that Joe Papp was the "star witness" for USADA!
Apparently he never read the USADA or CAS reports, as both only mentioned Papp briefly, stating his testimony had no impact on the decision. Well of course both Floyd and Dr. Kay read it, they are just LYING.

Inexcusable and pathetic journalism is all this interview is.

Normally when you appear on a TV show they'll pay for your trip. Or at least Jerry Springer did when some college friends of mine faked a freaky love-triangle story to get on the show.

I'm guessing Floyd had all expenses paid by CNN for the trip.

I am sure that he had a hotel,meals,limo/transportation and a nice appearance fee. As an US citizen he should not have to go France unless he is extradited. If anybody wants to talk to him they should do it through the proper authority. If Landis was smart he would have dovetailed his NYC visit with a guest spot on Law and Order.

Nice! That story deserves it's own thread

You are probably right. The appearance fee is usually small, like $500.

While it appears that the French have gone through the correct process I agree there is no reason for he or Arnie to go to France as they are likely guilty.

Um, Larry King Live is taped in Hollywood. At best, Landis and Kay carpooled up the 5 Fwy together from Murrieta.

Duh! You are right.

To be fair he also broadcasts out of studios in NYC and D.C. as well.

OK, it doesn't say that they were modified, it claims they were taken out of context. It doesn't say the mail came from LNDD computers, or that the mail account was hacked to send it.

Several e-mails, disguised as coming form the LNDD, were sent to sports institutions UCI, IOC, WADA amongst other recipients, questioning the responsibility of the laboratory with regards to the Floyd Landis doping case during the Tour de France. Attached to these e-mails were excerpts of internal documents concerning rectifications that had been made during previous testing process, but taken out of context. However, the messages were written in poor French with apparently typical English-speaking errors, and lacked the signature of its director, Jacques de Ceaurritz. Moreover, the official logo of the laboratory had been badly re-created, including an error in the spelling of 'Châtenay-Malabry'.
So, bad letterhead, "out of context", but no specific "alteration" of the substance is claimed.

Further, the recent NYT article has been further correctedto more closely match the interpretation I have been putting forth rather than the more lurid claims made by others. I wish I could claim influence on the media, but alas, I do not. One might presume their own fact-checking before issuing multiple corrections (which they always do willingly) are closer to truth than early reports, but disregard this if you wish:

An article on Tuesday about the issuing of an arrest warrant in France for the United States cyclist Floyd Landis in connection with a computer data hacking case from 2006 misstated the suspicions of investigators after a security breach at the French antidoping lab that tested Landis’s urine samples from the 2006 Tour de France. Investigators found that an e-mail message sent to another lab in an apparent effort to discredit the Châtenay-Malabry antidoping lab — the message included nonpublic documents from Landis’s Tour testing, the first indication that the French lab had been hacked — had originated from the same Internet Protocol address used by Arnie Baker, then Landis’s coach; they did not conclude that a Trojan horse program used to download files remotely from the lab could have originated from an e-mail message sent from Baker’s computer. (In fact, a French computer specialist, Alain Quiros, has confessed to the hacking.)

This seems to close the matter for now, and I leave you all to your gossip.

It is not surprising that instead of addressing the key issues you chose to obfuscate. This has been your, and Flandis' goal for the last 4 years. The fact is the documents were not sent out in their original format, they were MODIFIED. You can play all the semantic games you want, but that is a fact.

It is comical how instead of asking why Arnie was sending hacked documents out from his IP address you focus semantics. Suddenly Joe Papp is a "Star Witness", Floyd was the hacker, and the lab is issuing summons. All part of the overall effort to blow as much smoke as possible to hide the FACT that Floyd is a doper.

This is huge for Landis!

USADA's case really rested on the Papp testimony.

Rember, Papp was the technician from the London lab that ran the initial A sample tests on Floyd's Stage 17 samples. Without Papp's testimony, they can't place EPO in Floyd's blood. He couldn't explain the White-Out on the TPS form, or why the hard drive data had been transposed.

He was also the last tech to calibrate the CR-1000 Gas Chromatograph, but failed to conduct the second pipette titration procedure to verify the tertiary gas column stream (they had a CR-1050a manual too). That's basic lab work and is beyond ridiculous.
