Only took you 9 minutes to reply after someone felt anyone else is better than Contador at something. Not bad..

Nothing more than coincidence. It might as well have been 30 minutes, or 2 secs.

She could sense a disturbance in the Contador world...someone was attempting to question his greatness and that wrong had to be righted (is that word?).;) I too have that supernatural ability.:D

Interesting... maybe it wasn't coincidence after all.

LaFlorecita, do you root for any other riders, your compatriots, for example? :)

Compatriots? Nah... But I do root for Vino, pretty Danes, Spaniards, Italians and Cav. And Eddy.

Edit: And others I'm probably forgetting.

That I agree with. But Berto hasn't been 100% in quite some time, has he.

since giro. andy was the best climber at le tour? yes.. i remember andy kicking samu's *ss or wining at alpe d'huez..or maybe samu kicked him in some mountains and rolland destroyed him (andy) in more than one occasion..

i would also argue that andy was the 4th/5th best climber that tour.

OMG we should form a sorority! :p What about Ivan Basso, I follow him on twitter even though I don't understand a word of italian - it just makes me happy to see his lovely face pop up in the stream once in a while.

Man, only someone, who never read you on this forum, will rise to the bait of your provocative irate statements.

I'm a pretty dane btw. Hopefully that erases some of that massive hatred which was created through my comment on Andy, haha.

You really have to be careful who to comment on here - especially riders who are in 'bad standing'.

I stand by comment though. I think he is right now - will he be that this time next year? Doubt it.

what? bait? really?

maybe i'm wrong, but if you exclude falls and TTT, wouldn't contador and samu end ahead of lady andy? didn't pierre destroyed him at alpe d'huez? didn't evans also won time on him at the mountains?

contador + samu + pierre + evens = 4.

No doubt Andy is a great climber. But as a GC rider he is not good enough to say the stuff he has been saying. And even if he was, why do it? Why go and put Sastre, Contador etc. down in interviews? The fight should be on the bike, not in the press.

He really has something to prove now, but who knows, maybe that will give him the motivation he lacks.

Hahaha, no way! You would never do that!:D

By the way, you forgot to spell Evans name wrong wrong the first time you used it! ;)

Andy was probably the better climber, he was just completely and utterly tactically inept, and failed miserably to take advantage of the opportunities in his favour until he decided to go for one spectacular death or glory move.

It was a glorious move, the kind of thing that we'd been hoping would happen for years. But if Cadel Evans had gone down in the crash on stage 1 and lost the same time Samu and Contador lost, Schleck would probably have left it to the last 500m like he did on Plateau de Beille again.

Admittedly, the 2011 Tour was pretty anemic when it came to properly difficult stages to take advantage of for a climber, which makes it all the more disappointing that he simply refused to try to take advantage of those few opportunities there were until his back was to the wall. In stage 18 Andy suddenly realised he was going to lose the Tour de France, and unleashed a massive, but unsuccessful, last ditch effort to win it back.

see-that's the problem with the female fans- it's all about the handsome guys & nothing about the sport itself :p

Andy Schleck did the mountain stages in the 2011 Tour faster than anyone else, so he was probably the best climber.

Losses to Schleck in the mountain stages:

F Schleck +1.47
Rolland +1.52
Evans +2.17
Sanchez +3.04
Contador +3.31

These values don't mean much since he wasn't in yellow for all the stages. Another way of saying it: each rider had different goals depending on what stages they were. Also, TT guys let him go since he's null in that discipline.

Let me guess, it was all planned by Evans. I'll let Schleck gain 2 minutes on the way to the Galibier cause then I can take it back in the TT? You are stupid if you think that.

Actually he did kinda think that. Read some interviews: he said he let Schleck go because he thought he would be caught back in the valley. He wasn't relying on his time trial though, so it's different, but he still let him go on that climb. Just for other reasons.

Provided he would have finished with his brother, you'll have to subtract 2:07 :D

Quick calculation looks likes this:
F. Schleck
Rolland +0.05
A. Schleck +0.20
Evans +0.30
Sanchez +1.17
Contador +1.34
