Is Norway Doping?

4 stage wins for Norway this year. Steady progression or unbelievable performance? Is the peloton cleaner or is Norway doping?
Seriously? There's 2 Norwegians here and like -14 Norwegian pros in total. What kind of statistical analysis do you think you can make out of this?

Since both Hushovd and EBH was called "gravity defying" by Robbie McEwen on twitter:

Is it strange that people wonder a little bit?

Please- cut the sh!t--"THEY ALL DOPE" -but in all fairness- those stage wins by them were achieved more than anything else by their primarily abilities as sprinters & roullers & they won those stages in that fashion- an up hill sprint & a calculating breakaway were they had the upper hand against their fellow escapades--it's not like Hushov & EBH out climbed Contador & Co or even worse- they out sprinted Cav in a flat 100 mts....

Even more impressive the only manx rider in the tour has won 4 stages. That's an unbelievable ratio. Are the isle on man doping?

Those Luxembourg fellows sure look very suspicious too. Two men at the start, two podium candidates...

It is very very unlikely that they dope. Their careers would be absolutely destroyed if they where caught. The consequences would be far more severe than what they would gain.

Are you from Norway by any chance?

I highly doubt that their careers would be destroyed if they would be caught. Maybe Hushovd, because he could be too old for a succesful comeback (although I'm sure he has earned enough money the last couple of years to have a nice retirement). Teams would still be in line for Hagen if he was caught.

Anyway, you can't know what they would gain, because you don't know if they are clean, and if they aren't, what there level is without doping. Maybe the only reason they aren't domestiques is because they are doping, would you still say that the consequences of getting caught would be more severe than the benefits?

Having said that, I haven't seen anything to suggest they are particularly dirty. They both have a great Tour, but most of their succes has come from breakaways, where in Hushovd's case great tactical riding and fantastic downhill capabilities (areas where doping has little effect) were just as important as strength. It mostly shows that they have done a smart Tour, by not focussing on green, they can have all the freedom they want to tackle stages like this, while riders like Rojas and Gilbert (who could win these stages as well) sit in the bunch because HTC won't let them ride.
