I don't know which is more ridiculous: his insane long range solo attacks to win races or the fact he was so below-average at BMC compared to Quickstep.

Lol, I never wanted to be a pro cyclist (the thought crossed my mind briefly at, like, 14). I never raced. You know nothing.

As for what I do know about avoiding detection, hmm, hello? It's out there for everyone to see? Read up on Bernhard Kohl and Thomas Frei for starters, then remember that the likes of Valverde, Basso or Armstrong never tested positive.

One question. Why watch pro cycling if you think they are all doping. Like why bother. You're not a fan of cycling.

I like pro cycling despite what it is actually like. You can't like pro cycling without pretending it's something else. Seems to me I'm more of a fan than you of the sport that actually exists.

I quite enjoy good races thank you and think Gilbert is doping.

Anyhow, angrily suggesting that people calling out performances must themselves be failed riders takes quite a leap of imagination.

With all due respect, that's not very surprising if you have riders like Gaviria, Kittel and Richeze. The only (big) surprise is Gilbert.

5 of those wins came from the Vuelta a San Juan, which is only rated as a 2.1 race. Another four of those wins came from the Dubai Tour with Kittel. Again, not very surprising or even impressive.

if it's doping i dont care, i love the way Gilbert rides. it's especially refreshing after (an also doped) Sky have murdered almost every race they've tried in the past few years. after sitting through that sh*t time and time again i feel like i'm entitled to enjoy Gilbert no matter what he may be taking.

Agreed. This sport lost its integrity a long time ago if it even had any to begin with, but it still has some entertainment value. As long as I can watch good racing every weekend I'm a happy camper.

Jaysus! I would never have thought of it like that. Leaving aside the obvious clinic stuff for a moment, do all teams not have several doctors simply for the various schedules, different riders at different races and suchly?

Depends...if the performance is batshit crazy, like Flanders say, I find it unenjoyable to watch. Amstel was good though. It's like a suspension of disbelieve thing, like going to the cinema...if the acting or the special-effects are unbelievable it ruins the whole show...yep, pro sport is just theatre...
