The starting point should be a simple avatar/ signature forfeit for the duration of the month of July by participating posters, though we can build on from that.

So whose in? Barrus and i think Timmy have already have suggested they might, Moondance looks willing, and i cant see it without Dekker T (though he may choose Gesink vs Cadel in itt instead)

On the other side, Craig as punishment for this thread joins ACF in the BMC camp. Not that anyone other than ACF is neccesary.

I think your original post was pretty accurate.

Extremely talented bike rider and I'm sure he will have some big wins in the future, but to me he just comes across as 'soft'. Loses races on descents, crashes a lot, and has a thousand excuses.

Maybe soft is not the right word to use, but there is something about him that I can't put my finger on.

I would maybe change soft for accident prone? I can't see him holding his concentration for the entire length of a three week tour.

Wow, looks like you guys have found a whole new way to make "things interesting". Looks like I am gonna have to get used to identifying people with their anti-avatar.

One thing, given that this is cycling we are talking about and "**** happens"...

...how does injury or withdrawal affect the bets, etc.

Better to have clarity upfront, to avoid people invoking "obvious" caveats that were not agreed upon.

One other observation: is it worth creating an Avatar betting thread for the 2011 season, rather than have these side-bets clutter up threads?

I am willing to move suitable posts into it, if it is deemed sensible.

Maybe Dimspace/TeamSky Fans cam make a love shape Silouhette with a picture of Cadel in it so the Dutchies have to have that as their avatar when they lose the bet!
