How is:
Is Roglic past his prime?
even a question?
The only dilemma is to which degree he's past his prime and therefore how close to being washed-up.

That said, Alaphilppe won Quebec this year and a Giro Stage last year, so...
Unless we are talking about the last 5 years of Froome, it's all relative.

He is more past his prime than Pogi is. Less than Froome.

Similar to Valverde in 2018 or 2019.
So when he actually won the World Championship?
The crazy thing about Valverde, is that in 2022, as a 42 year old, putting aside the 'Gran Camino' "stuff" and such, he did:

- 2° at Strade Bianche (and 1° was Pogi, so it doesn't really count)
- 2° at Flèche Wallonne
- 4° at Giro dell'Emilia
- 3° at Tre Valli Varesine (again: 1° was Pogi)
- 6° at Lombardia

As a 42 y.o. !!!

Imagine a normal rider, retiring after said results.

I think he hit a peak the last couple years and has had a really strong 2019-2024 peak that he’s not far off of. I think he’s lost some punch but might be a better climber. Crashes have gotten in the way, but that can also be a symptom of slowdown.
